For those over 40 who might remember the series, lets try without the pink wigged moonbase gals.

Actually it was Fred Freiberger who killed off Space:1999. Gerry Anderson did not produce the second season. To quote the producer at the time, he felt it was too 'cerebral' for American audiences and wanted to 'dumb' it down turning it into another meaningless action TV series clone that nearly every 70s cop show was based on. Did it work?? Well, the show was axed after only one year with Freiberger at the helm. It went from high ratings (why did he mess with it when it wasnt broken) to ridiculous. Season 1 was excellent, season 2 was just plain stupid.

Oh UFO and Space 1999 that does bring back memories as we were talking about this over at STGs.Those were sort of hard core sci fi hard to compare it to something else around that era untill the Bionic Man and Woman came out but a little softer. It is just Police shows were popular in the early 70s like Hawaii 50 and others Book em Dano.

Not quite over 40, but I remember UFO!  I freakin' *loved* it when I was in first grade, and I still remember it fondly.  I might still have my old UFO lunchbox back in my mom's attic.  I'm going to have to dig these DVD's up online.

Do I have to start posting Hexx Snuff-films again?

As far as Fed v Lyran, your BCHT died to my BCV on SS2.  :P
