AOTK2 status update:
« on: June 26, 2005, 10:25:06 pm »
Didn't want this to get missed in al the Hexx bashing . . . .

1.  J'inn is in california this week.   I hear the Ambulances are easier to chase in that traffic.

2.  I am moving next week.  Hopefully Internet connectivity will be restored or I can mooch off my friends wirellesly for a few days.

3.   Fleebag is almost done with the map.

4.   The Mod is pretty much done.   I have a few more items that need to be thrown in for playtesting purposes (umm, K-D7TX is gonna be fun!!!) but that is easy work.  Bases may also need to be pimp'ed out if we cant' get the mission scripts doing what we want but that is 30 minutes work.

5.  Scripts:   Tracey has written some incerdibly STABLE patrols with AI-stripping that work great.   We have a few minor bugs to work out before they are ready for deployment and  production continures on more scripts.   TG had some exams to prepare for this week, testing is taking a short break, ain't realiife a bitch?

6. Kroma is still and Eve whore.   Hopefully he'll get bored soon and come back.

So hang tight kids, once my Real-life crap has evened out I will commence nagging fleebag and get this show on the road/
Who'd thunk that Star-castling was the root of all evil . . .

Not on this server.   We got bored one night and put X-Refts on all the BCHs and took them for a Spin.

It was  . . .  Entertaining  ;D

Ahhhh

So it's OK for the Klinks to get some wicked ass ship, and the ISC to get an upgrade to
their already near-Xtech capabilities.I assume the Feds will have one with "moderate" improvements as well.
But a ship that *might* serve to (in however limited a fashion) correct the obvious flaws & defienciencies
of the Lyran BCH series is too much?

<sigh>

Sad

Don't worry Hexx, if you get tired of losing as a Lyran, I'm sure one of the other great Feline empires will let you smash their ships up ;)

I hear the Kzin have an entire fleet of old DF+'s they'd love you to pilot :D

If you're going to give races X ships, which I despise, why not give consideration to the BCG+ and BCF+? It's a standard ship with only a couple of upgrades.... :whip:

Um, the server will spend VERY Little time in later era.

the X-crap starts coming out in 2281, the server ends in 2283.

Brush up on your Mid-era skills and stop worrying about the cheese because it will only be there for the very end.

PS.   The Hexx screwing will commence as planned

No Kzin are felines that hold current PvP VC kill and prestige records for flying in Lyran ships on a server.  Call me when you get a dozen VC kills and past 500,000 pp and I'll congratulate you on being approximately half way there  ;), although Cougar (a member of KOTH) might have passed the VC kill mark I had on SSII as a Lyran, he's way better than I am for sure.

It's ok if this takes a couple of weeks, my Gerry Andersons' UFO DVDs arrived and that will keep me busy. Beats the heck out of space 1999. I don't get how he messed up space 1999 after how well UFO was done. Gee whiz it's hard on the eyes though.

Actually it was Fred Freiberger who killed off Space:1999. Gerry Anderson did not produce the second season. To quote the producer at the time, he felt it was too 'cerebral' for American audiences and wanted to 'dumb' it down turning it into another meaningless action TV series clone that nearly every 70s cop show was based on. Did it work?? Well, the show was axed after only one year with Freiberger at the helm. It went from high ratings (why did he mess with it when it wasnt broken) to ridiculous. Season 1 was excellent, season 2 was just plain stupid.

Oh UFO and Space 1999 that does bring back memories as we were talking about this over at STGs.Those were sort of hard core sci fi hard to compare it to something else around that era untill the Bionic Man and Woman came out but a little softer. It is just Police shows were popular in the early 70s like Hawaii 50 and others Book em Dano.

For those over 40 who might remember the series, lets try without the pink wigged moonbase gals.

Not quite over 40, but I remember UFO!  I freakin' *loved* it when I was in first grade, and I still remember it fondly.  I might still have my old UFO lunchbox back in my mom's attic.  I'm going to have to dig these DVD's up online.

I remember your DNH chasing off a BCHT on a server (mainly cuz I remember you crying and snivelling that I wouldn't sit
there and die) but I don't remember you ever killing me, let alone with a relatively even match..

Please, I prefer to look at the validity of the claim.
By the time the BCV is out the DNH has been out for years, and DH would have the prestige to buy more

Any accusation that AoTK will suddenly become ready for testing today simply because some other game is down is total BS!!!

BTW . . .  I expect AoTK to be ready for testing later today.
