BTW....

it should be noted that this is STILL WIP ..   and the finish on it is basic primer coat black.  We still have the nacelles to do ..  and the next step in getting out all of the scratches.  My only reason for posting this was for 2 reasons:

1.  It has been too long since I've actually posted anything of any value.

2.  To see if anyone was interested in doing the mesh and map for texturing.  ( I really would like to do part of the textures.  But  still can't do windows !)

Thanks

She's looking great so far... I still wish I had the patience and skill to scratch build, then again, I'd probably get brained for cluttering up the house with toys!

thanks bud ..

BTW...  I'll send ya th mesh we were discussing later today

Oh ..  and you are right ... you should see my work bench AREA !

LOL !

It will take several DAYS to clean it up again.  There is dust that undoubtedly will NEVER get cleaned out from this project.  But, that's the price we pay for our little toy factory !

I'm hoping to get this done in a few more months ..  now the hard part starts !

This ones construction is rather unique.  It started out as paper mache'.  I had hoped to "slap it togeather" ...  just to post something so modelers could get a good idea of what to build.  ( since I lack the program / and or skills to build the mesh).

Then I got a hair-brained idea that started out just to be an experiment ...   cover it with plastic, and carve as much detail as possible, using my Dremmil tool.

I wish I had a discarded model of a Sovy (as long as the primary hull was still in tact  ..  and still reasonably clean.)  I'm sure that there would be some proportions that would be much better than this one that is hard carved.  This one is just my applications of what I have reviewed in the "Mod" viewer ....  and drawing certain primary dimensions on a piece of cardboard.

Well....  as you can see I still have a LONG ways to go.  But now what we have looks like a charcoal version of a mesh.

(hehehehe ....   you might say it's classic "Buzzard" style.  By that I mean: It's not a computer generated mesh .... but the closest thing  THAT I CAN DO to help.)

Wasn't J-O-K-E-R doing this, or was that another design of yours? :-\

he started on it in Sept of last year.  There were a few changes that were needed.  But for some reason at or about January of this year he stopped the project, and has not been in contact since.

I'm not angry or anything .... but 7 months later I am ready to move on and see if I can get this project done.

The good news is that we used the opportunity to get this hand carved model advanced to this point. ( we started it a little over 2-1/2 months ago)  At any rate ...  aside from the nacelles we have a really good idea posted for everyone to see in detail what she's supposed to be (aside from textures....   which I am more than glad to assist in doing.  I will still need someone who is good at windows and light maps. to complete the project)

Thanks for asking bud ..  I hope this answers everything properly without offending any one.

You know what, I wonder if Art Asylum would mind selling fan designed ships, or if they'd let us use their 3d scanner that they use for their action figures... ;)

actuall since I have to work on this out in the garage ..  and evening tempreatures have been in the upper 90's to 100 degrees for several weeks now  ( and I've put in litterally 65 to 72 hours at work ) not too much has been done the last 3 weeks.  Some touch up has been done ..  and the underside has some tweaking to be completed.  I hope to get the next step done by the end of this month.  After that I can start the hard part ..   hand painted textures !
