Growing up you knew you were in trouble when
« on: June 17, 2005, 07:12:41 pm »
They used my full name

Dad said get the belt even tho he was wearing one.( course he used his hands a few times too)

Mom said wait till dad gets home

They looked at me over the top of the glasses, and to this day I hate it when people do that to me. It's like now what did I do this time.

For me it was the "Tone". You know, that tone of voice your mom uses when you've done something really bad.

Dad just yelled. 5-10 min tops and he was done. Not with mom. Mom's remember things, and they know exactly how to punish you.

I remember the "belt" and I hated the fluck that weilded it with a passion. I still cannot believe he was a Naval Academy graduate at that too. No my lest stepdad rocked, he never punished me with a belt or hand, but I can guarantee you I felt so much shame when I knew that I had done wrong and he was mad and I heard his words.

When you have love and respect for a person, no belts or spankings or hitting is necessary.

I'm glad to say that I haven't needed to spank or belt my boys in quite a while.  They know the rule of three and don't lie to me!  I give them three warnings by the time it's the fourth well they know THEY gotta go and get a belt but if they lie and we catch them they get no warnings.  The other thing I used to have them do is stand in a corner and hold cans strait out.  Yeah they learn quick and they aren't spoiled either!

I hate guilt trips . . .  at least when they are used on me!   ;D

Well spoken by a female that cares to talk to us "has beens".  ;D

Take it from this old worn out ST playing whatever, there is no need for violence in the house. Officer Mats saw too much of that bullpuckey.

My mom was like a freakin' judge.  She never hit me when she was angry.  Instead, she told me "Son, you're going to get a spanking for that".

Then, she'd sit me down, tell me why what I did was wrong, why I had to be punished, and how many "licks" it rated.  We'd march off to the bedroom and she'd make me bend over the bed and count off the whacks (seemed much worse at the time that it does now).

Needless to say, I have a highly honed sense of crime and punishment.

Dad was just there in case I ran.  Though he left when I was 12 and told me at about 17 he was going to "beat my ass" for something I forget (I think I called his third wife a dribblin' slut or some such.. and she surely was).

I told him "Dad, you hit me and the only thing I promise you is that if I hit you hard enough to kill you it'll be an accident.  Other than that we both know I can take you".  Once we got that out of the way our relationship actually got better.. and the wife left him a year later..told you she was a slut.. :P

When I was REALLY in trouble...?

That would be when Mom sernt me to pick out my own switch. I just went straight to gallberry bushes and got one that was big enough that it wasn't flexable- better to get hit by a stiff limb rather than a whip-like little sapling that would wrap all the way around your leg.

The advantages of living in the Heart of Dixie- low cost of living, peace and quiet and a conservative majority. For some reason I think that the first two items have a lot to do with the presence of the last one.

Yeah I can see your point.

Hey did ya'll ever try to get out of a spankin by putting a book down your pants?  I did . . . ONCE . .  And ya know it only made it worse!  It's freaky when mom got so red in the face . . .  I think that scared me more and thats when I learned to take whatever punishment that was comming to me.

Been there, done that Alien, it made things worse as my ex-stepdad would get even more furious as I had learned how to try to "cheat" him of my spanking.

I also know about switches, though my beloved grandparents never did it to me, just the threat of a hickory switch was enough to make me behave.
