Excalibur Redesigns
« on: June 14, 2005, 03:15:51 pm »
Just caught wind of two, count 'em, two new versions of this awesome starship currently "under construction" at Sci Fi Meshes. There are about three versions converted for SFC out there. I think two are at battleclinic (one by Darkdrone IIRC).

I think this is exciting news!

Here's a link to watch their progress:

The Star Spangled Banner bring hither,
O're Columbia's true sons let it wave.
May the wreaths they have won never wither,
Nor it's stars cease to shine on the brave.

I gotta learn how to convert this ship to SFC3.  I don't care if the poly count is too high.  It would be interesting to see either way.

If it blows up, it'll give me a reason to rebuild.   :-D

The meshes from that site are generally extremely high poly count. Remember that Galactica I tried to convert? I got it from there and it was 460 THOUSAND polys. That even made my 3d Max lag, just imagine it in game.

Yes, I remember that little episode.  You wanted to know if I knew how to reduce the polycount on it and I had to give you the bad news that it would have to be made from scratch.
