Paradise Valley hospital in Chula Vista, San Diego, Cali does not provide certified copies of birth certificates anymore. I did a web search and all I get are those companies that want to do it FOR you for a FEE. Fluck that. I can deal with whatever state agency has my birth certificate on file.
Question for you Cali born folks is, what agency do I contact?
Thanks. I wish the State Dept. took DD-214s as well. I mean it says right there in black and white if I'm a citizen or not.

I need it because I'm a first time passport applicant, and I want one of those new ones with the electronic crap in them.

That and it is becoming MANDATORY for us to have one travel outside the U.S. and to reenter the U.S.
