That won't work.  A break model is a "broken up" model (hence the name "break model").  What you need to do is import the .mod file into a program like 3ds max or Milkshape and break it into several pieces.

If you copy the model as name_brk.mod it will work kind of...

what happens is the whole ship (with damaged textures) will show up doing a slow out of control spin, that will last for about 30 seconds then disappear as a normal break model would. You just don't get the exploding ship, I have done those in some cases as I don't have max. I would just remove parts and apply damage textures to the missing areas and call it a break model.
People always said they wanted the government to listen to them and now the government is listening, taking notes and names...and coming to see you soon!

Your way of doing GAFY is remeniscent of the days of the tall sailing ships when, defeated in battle, the ship, ablaze sank and spiral down into davey jones' locker. ;D

But it works and I was capable of doing it with the tools available to me, which of coarse are very inexpensive

Don't know never tryied it...

I can see one problem though right away, all the connies I know of all mirror one side to the next, on the secondary hull. SO any changes I make will be on both sides. I no longer have milkshape, new PC, and the newer version I have had no luck with exporting mod files. Unless that is addressed first you can not make the damage different from one side to the next.

thought about it before and this is where I stopped every time.

If you could send me the model and the textures you want to use, I could try it.  Just email them to me here a_co_trumpet@msn.com
