Klingon Strife Class F5 Frigate
« on: May 31, 2005, 03:02:47 am »
Another Klingon, and this time it isn't a cruiser. This was loosely based on an Atolm sketch and is obviously intended as a TMP era version of the SFB F5. There are also alternate textures included for those that prefer their Klingons clean and new, as opposed to warn and battle scarred.

A definate "need" ship. Great lines and proportions. The command section looks roomier, but still fits the rest of the ship. The standard F5 always looked "dwarfish" to me. This looks lean and nimble.

Beauty as well though I have the same nits as on the new Accuser.
Snickers@DND: If there is one straight answer in that bent little head of yours, you'd better start spillin' it pretty damn quick, or I'm gonna take a large, blunt object, roughly the size of Kallae AND his hat and shove it lengthwise up a crevice of your being so seldomly cleaned that even the denizens of the nine hells would not touch it with a 10-feet rusty pole

Well it's ok but Im not to fond of the downward turn of the wings. And is that the size its suppose to be?. it looks kinda small, as according to my sources the F5 is 120 meters long.

The K'tinga is 214 meters, cut it in half and you get roughly the scale for the F5. Besides, this isn't the SFB version, so it doesn't have to be exact.

The wings might seem odd, but not any worse than the flying brick appearance of the original.

Quoting myself from here:

Quote
While I like the design, it looks a bit too sleek and curvy to be a plain ol' TMP-era design, it looks like it's in the beginning of a transitional phase between TMP-era designs and TNG-era designs, more like late-2280s/early-2290s, sort-of like the Suvwl' QeH-class command cruiser.

Nevertheless, it is still a good design, and an excellent job has been done as always.

Ah Ok gotcha. But on the other hand now that you mentend it you going to do a sfb style F5 to go along with the D7 and C7 and B10 you got on your site, As thoes ship look great. And more klingons that look like them would be even better. As im a tos-tmp junky :D

Atolm's design is easy to look at; the original... gahh!  As soon as somebody came up with anything less than a D7, I replaced it!  Nice execution, WZ.
