I asked before I started flying it and was given the OK

Well, it's really Hexx's fault, since he did the shiplist and didn't "special" it out...
You didn't know, NP. 
As long everyone else got rid of their's as well...
Maybe if the "official" rules would have mentioned that Droners and Escorts CL size and up were not supposed to be in the shiplist, someone would have realized it.
That's assuming, of course, anyone actually READ the rules.
Seems many didn't even bother to look at them.
