Ummm somebody tell me if this is worth a VP because -- According to the rules it may not be.

Last night MasterSteve (flying a DN) and GarbageScow (Flying a CF) vs
Pesty (CF) and DarthDeath (DN)

Both teams had an AI ...
GarbageScow and Steve managed to kill off the AI and both Terrin ships in a very well fought match.
Normally I would have though this was worth a VP for the kill of the DN -- based on it being an even match up of 2v2 -- however according to the rules you only get a VP for forcing a DN to run off .. does killing it count as making it run off?
I will let the rules lawyers figure that one I -- I am having to much flying to worry about getting upset over a vp or two.

Great game guys.. see you on the front lines soon.

 :rules:

As written, no VPs (of course making the other side lose a DN is at least a little consolation).

Quote
4B)PvP rules
Your PvP kills are counted when you are the only player in a mission on your side.

Kills scored while flying a DN do not count.

No green I think you missed my point...

Based on the rules when ..had we made the DN exit the hex -- we would indeed get 1VP..

Rule 4C states

4C)Any DN or BCH that disengages in an even numbered fight gives up 1 VP to the other side.

(I read rule 4C to mean that any DN or BCH hull that disengages in a 1v1 2v2 or 3v3 match gives up a VP to the other side)

so considering it was a 2v2 fight -- and both sides had DN's both sides could have lost a VP..\
Where the contention might be is that -- we killed the DN instead of having it disengage ..Now I would think killing it -- is the same as forcing it to disengage but like I said it isnt worth getting in a pissing war over -- its only 1 vp were dealing with -- but for a matter of future reference it would be good to know.

Hope that helps to clerify the gray area I was looking at..

The rule is to encourage DN pilots to fly with a pair of balls.

Yea I can see that and think it works..

I guess that according to the actual wording of the rule itself -- there should be no VP awarded because it was killed?
This is going to make life interesting when we start flying BCH hulls next week.. Loose your ship and the PP -- or fly off the map and cost your team a VP..

Interesting rule -- can't wait to see how it plays out next week.

Jar Jar Soreyes and Master Anubarak were drafted after some deepstriking by Darth Salicious.  Master Anubarak crashes out immediately as the mission starts leaving me alone with Darth Salicious. Luckily I had only used a couple of spares and only sustained light damage on the earlier missions and was in pretty good shape.  After a good fight Darth Salicious decided to self destruct rather than face potential capture.

Might not count as Anubarak was drafted too, although he didn't even make it into the mission.  He just went straight to desktop at draft.

As the pilot destroyed in this mission, I think this should count as a kill.  The stated rule on a wingman dropping would only seem to apply if he has had ANY impact on the battle.  In this case, he did not.   He never made into the mission.   Yes, he was drafted, but he crashed out directly to desktop.  It was never a 2v1 match.

Please count as a kill.

+1 Karma, I respect that sort of sportsmanship.

+1 from me as well, although Agave knows he has my lifelong respect already, as we've only known each other for over 20 years  ;)

This is the kinda of thing I've come to expect from him, and he has always been tops in sportsmanship.

True, a bit weird ... but many of the rules are, shall we say, unique and offer some different ideas.  I think Hexx may have put it in place to strongly encourage players to stick around and fight vs leaving.
