Have about 5-10 other models in various stages of complation, including some personal requested ones , that people asked for, those are pending the original authors permision. I am hoping i will be able to get a couple more uploaded before i go on vaction next week, for 30 days, if not then when i get back i will upload them.

The difference between 2 and 3 is 2 has no glow thing, but has the light maps, also i believe that the hardpoints are reversed 1-11 heavy's 12- up is phasers etc right? is there any thing else different? now will not be able to do them before i leave Monday morning for vacation, however i could do them when i get back. If the above is the only difference it should be no probelm to convert them to sfc 2. Or if somebody else can do it i don't mind, not sure if you would need mind-blips permision or not to convert them.

I believe your correct on the steps to Convert an SFC3 mod to OP Perhaps one of our veteran Modders can confirm that since
I can't mod for the life of me. ;D

just so ya know, when I downloaded the starslayer and the refit, it appears you placed the same modfile in both, as they are identicle. I don't get red engine domes, class B nacelles, or the -A reg when I place the refit model in max, it appears you just zipped 2 uss starslayers.

Usually, it's best if you completely redo the hardpoints on the model while converting.  SFC1, 2, and OP allow groups of weapons to fire from a single hardpoint, while in SFC3 only one weapon can fire from a single hardpoint.  Primary weapon hardpoints in SFC3 are 1-11, and heavy weapon hardpoints are 12+.  Also, SFC3 contains three pictures of the ship, (shipname)BS, (shipname)TI, and (shipname)VL which are not needed for the other SFC games.  There is also a .txt file that gives a description of the ship that isn't needed in the other SFC games.  Damage textures are handled differently in SFC3.  SFC3 has a separate damage texture map and damage illumination map for every normal texture and illumination map with a D at the end of the name.  I'm not sure how SFC2 and OP handle damage textures because I've never added ships to those games before.  Finally, SFC3 ships have a .gf file included that contain hardpoint and glowgroup information.  This file serves no purpose for other SFC games.  I have converted several ships made for SFC2 and OP to SFC3, but I have never converted SFC3 ships to SFC2 and OP before.  Hopefully, this information will be helpful.
