« on: May 16, 2005, 11:45:08 am »
something i'v had in mind for awhile now. i served on the real U.S.S. Bigelow for 2 yr's and thought the story behind her name a good one. The Bigelow served in Vietnam, numerous
Gemini and Apollo recovery mission's and was the testbed for the phalanx A.A. defence sys.
advice and comment's please. thank's

Cool, How's this ?

U.S.S. BIGELOW Phalanx class Light Cruiser

Owner : United Federation of Planets
Class : Heavy Combat Vessel
Availability : Limited Availability
In Service : 2222
Out of Service : n/a

History :
Phalanx Light Cruisers were operated by the Federation during the Four Years War against the Klingon Empire. The Federation Starfleet had been unprepared for all-out war with the Klingons and required a dedicated light cruiser for fleet actions against the Klingons.

At the end of the war most Phalanx Light Cruisers were kept in operations near major Federation outposts and starbases.

The U.S.S. Bigelow, Captain Garath's ship at the Battle of Axanar was a member of this class.    ;)

Gimme a few days and I'll make ya stat sheet if you like this concept.

Yup I'm sure. I've been an avid fan since the early 70's when I first saw TOS in syndication. I've collected tons of concepts and ideas over the years and formulated more ideas then I can remember. But I'm only a texture guy so All I can do is put my ideas out there and see if you modellers like 'em and sometimes they come to life in the form of a cool new ship or refit. And I try to fit them nicely into the timeline so that perhaps in there respective times they coulda made a difference. ;)

I like this a lot. It flows well as a design. Very nice  :)
