Mirror Update
« on: May 14, 2005, 07:48:36 pm »
OK yes Mirror should have a test up this weekend- I apologize for the lateness it's completely my fault.
Been so busy with work recently I haven't actually wanted to sit down and think when I got home.
Plus it took me a while to come up with the US entertainment tax  J'inn told me about.
I mean I know the US government is hurting, but an out of country service fee for any use of US registered computer equipment by someone
who's not a US resident? Sheesh.
Still I'd like to thank J'inn for taking the time to process the fee on my behalf so I don't have to pay a filing fee as well.

Anyway I'll be posting the VP's later, likley just before the server goeth live. Yes this will minimize the time you
have to plan ahead- but the background is that this is a bit of an accident so it wasn't planned anyway.

The first thing (uhmm aside from the stuff above) I'd like to say is
-Have fun, please
While I would love to see 30-40 people on Mirror all the time it is a server that (I hope) will simpley be a fun one to play
Sides will switch for each of the Civil War servers, so there is no long term bragging rights afterwards. Heck it's my server and I'm not going
to care who won it a week after it's finished.
Please- keep it friendly, try and fly with some peeps, especially if you haven't flwon on their side before.
Fed ships don't have a lot of transporters but there will be a fair number of Black Holes.

Ships should (I think) be cheap. Only restrictions are one DN and one CV on at anytime- the only carriers are the NCV and uhmm, something else (assuming I didn't screw up) SFB fighters will be used. Should be (I think) lots of Nebs, lots of rocks, and lots of black holes.
Only CL's and amaller are permitted entry into the main dividing nebula. CA's and larger have to use the "safe" route marked by the black hole hexes.

Further updates as I think of stuff to say.

All I want to know is where the download is to test. I saw the server up and I couldn't log in because I don't have the correct shiplist and ftrlist.

I think DH will have the test up tomorrow.
AFAIK he's gotten bored trying to find names to sneak by EVE's language filters.

Also (of course) would like to take this opportunity to thank J'inn, DH & everyone else that has helped
contribute to this server.
As the complaints start to role in I'll be using all of you as scapegaots so I suppose I should apologize in advance..

Since J'inn held the draft, when do we find out which side we're going to be on?

I think he's still waiting for the lists to be sent back.
Also it's the weekend and I don't believe the banks are open.
Sometime after the cheques clear Monday Morning I'm sure you'll all find out.

Saw a CVS in yards, also.  Only other carrier I saw was a FFV.
I assume for "Carrier" purposes we're meaning CLs and up...?
Or how will that work?
Just making sure, for myself as well as everyone's clarity.  ;)

BCF was almost 30K, so only serious players will be in them.  Cpaturing bases requires 10 base assaults in a row All ending in captures so I think some patrols need to show up on these hexes or get rid of the destructible bases. Supply is VERY long-distance as I see it.
But hey, Im fine with that. If people want to run 10 missions in a row for a hex then they are easier prey for Ai fighters like yourself  :P

But players can buy a small base just under 11K.. as such, many players can set bases.. I set one in Fed Territory today... But then again I'm Fed (Smurf).
