Looking for specs on the Orion OK6
« on: May 13, 2005, 05:55:56 pm »
I've spent some time spiffing up the textures for the Orion OK6 Conquest model and now I'm looking for the SSD to spec it. I've not been able to find it and am making an appeal to my fellow SFC addicts for the numbers from the SSD. Afterwards I intend to post the model, with the ShipEdit exports, for anyone who cares to use it.

It is a really interesting vessel, worthy of a place in Starfleet Command, IMHO. The rule number reference seems to be R8.15.

Thanks in advance for any assistance in bringing this to life.

I have stats for the OK-10 Conglomerate Battleship and the OKF8B Heavy Raider / Great BOP if ya want, find me on MSN and I'll get 'em to ya. Post a pic of the ship I may have SSD for it but the SSD may just say Heavy cruiser etc. on it. May not have a proper name.

UPDATE : I looked through my SSD's I have it Rogue the OK6 Cruiser. Tell me where to send it.

Thanks, MP. I had found the SSD's you have. They are related to the OK6 as they are also hybrid designs depicting what you might have with a hybrid of other parts. From what I can tell, the OK6 is the secondary hull of a Klingon D6 with the majority of an Orion cruiser replacing the boom. It's easy enough to do the Klingon half but I don't know what the boom section is. And even if I know that I don't have what some of the other numbers worked out to be. Things like shields, sensor, scanner, excess damage... etc. Once I have those numbers then we can play with a some likely option packages for the Orion option mounts.

I've done a D6 secondary hull with a tournament cruiser front end as it is the only Orion SSD I have. I like it but I want to get it right. I want to add it to the Orion Orion fleet in a manner similar to Firesoul's shiplist expansion for an OK60, OK61, OK62 ... You know... I didn't think to see if Firesoul already speced it in OP+... Doh! Let's find out.

Edit:   Nuts! Doesn't seem to be there. The quest continues.

Is that the OK6 from Smileylich?

If so then I'm pretty sure it isn't the specific one I'm looking for. That one is a Donald Miller design that is pretty different from the Starfleet Battles OK6. I hate to be picky but that one isn't entirely compatible with SFC because of the unique rules he wrote for his designs.

Sweet idea, I'm pretty much doing the same kinda thing. Using ship edit and SSD stats to really change up my game. I made it easy for ya . I uploaded all the Orion SSD's I collected, so you and everyone else can enjoy them. the OK6 is in there. ;)

Thanks for the effort, MP. I am familiar with Donald Miller's SSD's and it won't help me in this case. He has a lot of interesting stuff but it is very difficult to translate then to SFC and keep the charactor of them as intended. Still it is appreciated, bro.

I'm done with texture matching it. This is the same model from Fleetdock13 and War Refit Spacedock.

http://members.fortunecity.com/sfcspacedock/po6.htm

All I did was assemble some textures with a retouch here and there that I thought worked a bit better. Nothing too nuts as it is a unique, one of a kind, starship. Kind of like the Hydran Anarchist. As soon as I can do a few ShipEdit exports to represent a couple of option assignments I'll post it here at Battleclinic.

Very cool, I had forgotten all about this lil old ship. Look forward to seeing what ya did to it. It's refreshing to see some of the great old ships getting some new clothes.

Success! I now know that I have too much stuff. I had the specifications amongst the bazillion things I have saved. I should be able to finish this off this weekend.

Update: For what it is worth...

Now available here at Battleclinic. Two ShipEdit files are included for easy initial set up.

I just had to have this in the mix of things. Part of the appeal of SFB is the prewritten history of vessels just like the OK6 hybrid cruiser.
