Enterprise
« on: May 09, 2005, 01:10:35 pm »
Searching through BCfiles for the new Sovereign, I found these.  They are really nice and should be converted, or at least have the textures added to an existing model.  One conversion in particular though, the USS Atlantis NCC-05 is a really nice ship.  In fact this is what the Enterprise should have looked like.

Sweet, you guys work fast.  It would be nice to have an Earth/Romulan War Mod now that these ships are starting to come out.  All we would need is some more Romulan Ships for this era.

I know F_W and Mani are currently converting these ships over, and they're also getting permission from the original authors.  All about it is in another thread here in the dyna.

i was about to say texturing them should be a problem as you can use the BC textures with the SFC mod, ive just dled the BC version converted to mod and then 3ds for manipulation purposes

I have completed the conversion process of all the models in the pack.

Let me know if anybody wants them to texture.

Seeing these really rather cool interpretations of the NX (mainly I'm interested in the NCC-05, looks much more suitable than the original NX IMO but that's another debate) reminded me of something posted on the Flare forums recently, apparently Rob Bonchune from the VFX department has released 5 views orthos of the actual Mesh of the SS Intrepid or 'NV' class from Enterprise - the one with the half-saucer and massive nacelles, I was wondering if anyone had any plans to make one in a similar good quality as the ones linked to here? Or if a semi-sort-of-vaguely-accurate version of the ship at the standard of these NX variants already exists?

In case people here haven't seen these yet the thread where Bonchune discusses the Intrepid (they just called it the Half-saucer not knowing the writers had named it hence the lack of name on the mesh) and various other stuff that went on during production is here: http://www.hobbytalk.com/bbs1/showthread.php?t=112346 apparently the actual original mesh is a partial kitbash of the NX class.

and the actual images of the Intrepid can be found here: http://www.fourmadmen.com/gallery/index.php?cat=10010

Hmm, that's odd, I did a search there for Intrepid but only found one version of the Ent-era ship and it was pretty crappy looking to say the least, anyone got a link to this Trekmods one?

Try a search for the Neptune class.  I seem to remember that one of these ships was classified under Neptune class.
