Half-reminds me of the Steamrunner-class, in a way.  Perhaps a former ISC-now-turned-Fed race designed that? *shrug* Good work anyhow, WZ.  I really like the ship, it's original from the SFB cylinders and Taldren birds.

Well, making the designers of the Enforcer and Steamrunner be of the same race based solely on the pylon-mounted deflector is a bit of a stretch. Especially after there being almost a century of difference between them. If you were to flip it over it'd be a Miranda rollbar, and if you changed the pylon shape it'd look like the lower wings of a Valdore.

You wouldn't need the race to join up with the Federation just so a couple of ships can share a fairly simple and obvious design trait - there are other, more clandestine ways of getting things from your enemy. It's also reasonable that the two had the same idea or the same requirements when they came up with their versions.

It isn't unplausible that there's more than one race with 'rollbar' style design elements. The Orions, Klingons, and Romulans all share bird motifs in their starships. There's also the Defiant and Hideki classes, and I doubt there was any willful sharing of ideas there.

The way I see it, the ISC just wanted better reception for their Frog-Ball games and decided to mount their deflector/sensor suite far from the rest of the ship to cut down on interference. The Feds caught on to this idea a century later when they made the Steamrunner, and that explains why they can get such good broadcasts during the annual Targ races...

Well, good point WZ.  I just figured (after seeing your design) that such a possibility might not be improbable.  But once again, you have a good point.

Our *four*...no... *Amongst* our weapons.... Amongst our weaponry...are such elements as fear, surprise.... I'll come in again.

Oh god I love that sketch. The CL looks even better than the CA IMO, but where'd the deflector go on it? I mean you chopped it off of the pylon, surely they'd put it straight on the hull or something, I dunno... Great ships anyway WZ.

Starforce - They're the ISC (Interstellar Concordium) from SFC II/OP. The stock ships are primarily black, the original SFB versions were tri-hulled and blue.

There are several different versions that other modders have done - these are just one more variant to choose from. I tried to stay close to Atolm's original design while still adding some details from SFB and the stock ships.

Marauth - These guys aren't the Feds so they don't need a main deflector on every ship, it's just an added bonus.

MP - I don't know about the Dominion ships as they tend to be as complicated as the Romulans.

Hey WZ, that is an outstanding design.  Someday I'm going to get to ISC ships, but your designs, among a few others on this board, are just so good that I don't think I could come up with a unique design.

Excellent work.

Awsome design.  Originality, while still having the cool looking windows from the stock ships.  Is there any race you can't do?

Very beautful WZ. They seem impressive and nautical. I also love the hull configuration.

What's with all the sudden ISC-loving attention??? (I don't mind it in the least, now I can get lots of vareity to pick from...)

Now it's just a matter of me convincing the D2 gang that we need more ISC ships so we can use all these awesome models...

I can honestly say that is the best TMP adaptation of ISC ships I have seen so far.  I think Thull's are very nicely done also but these "click" for me better.

Well if it helps, think of Thul's great work as Pre-refit designs. I gotta reload SFC OP and get some screenies of these 2 in action against a WZ Connie. ;)

You missed the stage where we were attempting to modify ships for "balance"...

It took forever and a lot of work just to let us try to swap Pl-D for Pl-I, nevermind getting any kind of "variants"...

When I flew SGO4, all I remember about the ISC is that they were total cheese.  Even in the stock game they weren't that tough, on any setting.  But then again by the time I flew SGO4 it had been a very very long time since I had fired up SFC:OP.

You mean my mini-avatar?, ie This one?

That's just a screenie of the I-DN UI from OP.  I started a mission against an I-DN, screenshotted it once I got the DN in the lower MFD, cut, shrunk and rotated it to make it avatar-sized.

I could send you the original .gif (as I don't think you can get the URL from the boards) if you'd like...

Not picking on you Daihak, but were you facing, say, and I-CAZ while in a NCA or CCB of just about any other race?

Reason I ask is that, if you based your "cheese" perception on this, then you fell into the same trap that caused the ISC to get into the predicament I mentioned above...

The ISC ships are "misclassed", as it were, an I-CAZ is BPVed in the same range as, say, many other BCHs.  An experiment I set up in SFB, I took a K-D7L, fully refit (UIM, etc.), with a SFC-ish load of fast Type-I drones, and did up the BPV.  It is within 2 BPV of, all ships, the I-CSZ, every "combat ready" ISC CA-hull beats out the K-D7L by a wide margin...

Yeah, when I was flying SGO4.  I am well aware that when it came to ISC ships, always consider the class of ship to be one class higher, and even then, half the time the ISC still had the upper hand.

As I said before, in the stock game, on any setting I was playing, in any ship, the AI weren't as hard to take out as the AI on the server, but I also know they rebalanced the mod.  I'm well aware of the conditions of the mod.  I was just pointing out an experience I had on SGO4.

Also, having a certain person as my race leader for most of the campaign wasn't exactly a very fun experience, since after a while, this person would get easily high-strung and stressed out.
