Audio question
« on: May 09, 2005, 02:00:52 pm »
Digging through some old crap, I came accross a home theater speaker package that has gone unused for years,a nd was never installed.  They are just timply speakers, but I was thinking of putting them to good use, since all they've ever done is collect dust in their original package.
In any event, they are missing something:  a powered source to connect the speakers (non RCA connection).  I am trying to decide whether to use this to connect to my TV, so I can have surround sound, or to use it as a speaker source for my computer(s) since I use them and my iPod for music more these days than my stereo.
Any advice?

It really depends. IF you don't have surround sound for your TV, Id use them for that. You can always really on some good Headphones for your Ipod.

Before you do anything else, check the impedance on those monsters first.  Make sure if you add them to a system, it won't cause it to blow!

The real problem is having a powersource for them.  They aren't that big, though, so I'm not too worried about a big powersource.
