Where do you all buy ur parts?

I personally use newegg and tiger direct (but they rarely are cheaper than newegg).

i get mine from one of 2 local shops.

I get PC's from one (free builds - i'm not comfortable paying 200+ for proc/mobo just to screw up getting the heatsink seated) ; and misc parts from the other, but i do price comparisons before i get anything major.

You get the hang of it; it's just like in the old days of vinyl records- you clean the disc with Discwasher GENTLY; no one pushed down hard on the brush.  Now, it DOES take a little <oomph> to seat that last clasp on the heatsink over the lug, but you can't let that put you off.
