Description:
This rarely seen variant of the V'dan Bird of Prey was used by Shinzon's Regime as an alpha strike unit to provide fire cover for capital ships.
Considered feared fighters among the Romulan people, the Praetors crews were comprised solely of Reman warriors.
In addition to it's heavier armour, the Praetor Class Bird of Prey incorperated twin light disruptors to it's arsenal of heavy disruptors and plasma torpedo launcher.
The Praetor class also added two rear-mounted light plasma torpedoes.
These weapons were installed to protect retreating Praetors from pursuing warships.
Faster,more manueverable and more heavily armed and armoured than their Klingon contemporaries, the Praetor class can easily stand toe to toe with larger warships fielded by other races.
The Romulan Star Empire made heavy use of the Praetor Class as Remans are often used as "cannon fodder" by the Romulans.
They were often deployed by the Romulans in Shinzon's Regime during the Dominion War in the fiercest engagements.
