It's nice being able to change the units to meters. Everything can be done to scale. Well... provided I remembered the lenght of the Connie at ~410m correctly.

The Connie in that picture is like 417m or so.

And for those that pickup on the size referance, yes, I do play Master of Orion alot :D

I still need to add the secondary weapons mounts, docking bays, ect ect. Prolly some sort of windows to. Oh, and the glow effects.

It's bigger than I thought then: The Constitution-class is 289m, its refit (TMP movies) is 305m long.  Just FYI.

Snickers@DND: If there is one straight answer in that bent little head of yours, you'd better start spillin' it pretty damn quick, or I'm gonna take a large, blunt object, roughly the size of Kallae AND his hat and shove it lengthwise up a crevice of your being so seldomly cleaned that even the denizens of the nine hells would not touch it with a 10-feet rusty pole

For scale, it would be perfect as a Seltorian Hive ship. Too bad it's on the wrong species of the war ;)
Shrunken down, I think it would be an interesting SCS with the PF links and external hangars located within the forward half's hollow section...

Think of it as "reimagined Tholians", Strafer.  Like "reimagined BSG" for example.  I like it as it is.  Although it's nice to imagine crystalline SFB-esque Tholian ships, these are good too, and reminds me more of Tholians than metallic ships like the ones on Enterprise...

Works for me as a TNG era Tholian ship.

here's another shot with some of the bays added and the Conny and Yamato in for scale.

As far as the ship size; Tholians built dyson's spheres. They do everything big lol

It's 3300 meters long and about 1000m wide

I've been curious... Have you ever thought of doing more of SFB-style Tholians again, but making the SFB ships more crystalline-like?  I'm sure that could be done with texture-bashing and applying 'em to your older models (so I'm not really exited about something like that), but I've been curious if you thought you'd wonder about retouching 'em up a bit yourself...

However, I don't mind the path you're going with your reimagined Tholians, I like 'em very much, this ship included.

Where in the Hell did you get that from?

Clearly your sources aren't the best in the world

The ship looks nice though

Yes the Tholians do build Dyson's spheres so I believe your sources aren't the best.  ;) Do some more research. I'll post it when I get home if no one else does first.

Name your source

As I recall there is no mention of this in canon, which as I recall is only the live action medium

FedRebel, free yourself from the chains of canon.  Look at the quote on my signature and click on it.  You'll find an interesting read.  I'm sure you'll find Brez's info in SFB, where such a minor race from only one episode of TOS Trek had gotten a complete backstory that's really interesting.

FedRebel, free yourself from the chains of canon.

Why?

Those in charge currently say only live action material is canon.

And if I embrace the chaos, how is my "Trek experience" improved?

Furthermore, I'm speaking with individuals who seem to take "Tholians built the Dyson Sphere" as fact, when it is actually baseless speculation

A game?

Invaluable info on races and their accomplishments is in a game manual?

Wow! I'm convinced some nameless game developer knows more about Star Trek than Rick Sternbach, Mike Okuda, and everyone else on the live action production staff![/sarcasam]

All the novels, books, and games are just glorified fanfiction, and contribute nothing to the universe at large

Hell most of that crap contradicts the live action material

Sure you can have your opinion on what you want to be, think should be canon. But remember it's just your opinion, not fact.

FedRebel, one thing I don't like is someone's Trek being pushed down my throat, and I believe that's what you're doing.  Seeing as I'd rather not start a dead topic, I will point you to this thread, where such a debate happened.

Let's get back on-topic now, please.

FedRebel, your right and wrong.  In Star Trek Canon, there was never a mention of the Tholians using Dyson Spheres, but in SFB, it was discribed in their background history that they fled their home Galaxy and brought a single Dyson Sphere with them to this Galaxy.  This single Dyson Sphere became their home planet in Tholian space in this Galaxy.  No mention if they could produce more then one.

I guess its up to you if you want to consider SFB Canon or not.  I like to think of SFB as a different Timeline myself, but that is just my way of looking at it.

Um, FedRebel, you do realize that you're on a forum dedicated to a game, don't you?  More importantly, you do realize that said game is based far more on another game (SFB) than on "canon" Trek, right?

As for whether or not Tholians build Dyson spheres, I would point out that it was never said who built the Dyson sphere in "Relics..."  ;)

And, to the original topic, that is a Tholian ship to strike fear into the hearts of...  well, pretty much everybody:D

I would like to point out that in the second picture, those aren't fighters in the top hanger. THeir destroyers. Fighters would be to small to show up.

Nice addition to the Thols, Brez.

As far as the Dyson sphere goes, wouldn't it be cool if someone did a background model (like in Chris Jones' mods) for SFC that represented the Tholian Dyson sphere?
