If Sears doesn't want it, I nominate J'inn, just for the comedy potential...

Hooch tells me you can be a Pimp, pedal flesh in Eve.   Is this true or is it like that "only hurts the first time" lie?

It's probably true.   Not pimping, but I'm sure there is a trade in smuggling slaves and such bad boy stuff.

Eve has a lot of pluses and minuses.

Minus:

-  I don't care for the game play as far as ship flight goes.   It's to computer controled for my taste.

-  The sheer massive brain exploding scope of the game is a minus unless someone is really helping you a lot.

-  WHERE THE HELL IS THE INSTRUCTION MANUAL!!!!

-   CRACK ALERT!!!    Easy to kiss your real life goodby with this game.   I think Fluf is on 16 hours a day.  Seriously.

-  Maybe too many players . . .   doesn't have that small community D2 feel at all.

-  Too complex for many?

- WHAT!!!    I GOTTA PAY!!!???

Pluses:

-   Unfrigging believable graphics.

-    Server stability?    Can you say over 10,000 on line at once with no burps.

-    If you like complex, this is it.    SHEESH!!!!

- You really can create your own character.  It's not all mining.  In fact, I've only mined once.   Mainly I just run around with Kroma and get into trouble.

I can only pray that some will make a Star Trek based game with this concept and engine.  AND ONE THAT ISN'T ONLY THE FRIGGIN TNG MOVIE GENERATION!!!

OOOOOoo SFB based universe with this level of character development . . . .     WET DREAM ALERT!!!

A pretty go sumation by Jinn, although I thing the combat has a bit more depth than initially meets the eye. It is different than the micro-managed controlled SFC version (and actually a bit more realistic, targeting computers and tracking systems).  The tactical depth comes from the ability to gang (fleet up) and the outfitting of ships within that gang. All classes of ships have their uses, even the lowly FFs as atrition units and tacklers (think anchors) in getting the kills. A fleet of all BBs won't do well against a mixed class fleet with the supporting ships and systems, if what I am seeing is correct.

It seems like you are giving up control to the computer vs the lowly AI pirate drones we have been fighting so far, but it is just a different kind of control and tactical manuevering that you do in Eve than SFC. This was appearent to me when I flew the level 3 complex mission with Rolling, as your target-set-heading-and activate-weapons tactic was getting me killed fast.

I'd like to see a Fed running a side.  Maybe not one of the "Usual Suspects", but a player of distinction who is willing to put some time in the thing.

Beside, I'm trying to find out how they get those photon thingies to hit at range 53.  There must be some secret handshake or something.

Since J'inn doesn't want the job, I would nominate C-Los, but I know he'd strangle me, so that's out. ;)

How about Jeff? <ducks back into the Bomb Shelter and bolts the door>

During a GZ match many moons ago I asked how that worked...
I was told you have to firmly grab your ba....er, a certain part of your anatomy...and they'll hit every time.  ;D

Jeff would be good.  But I do like that WarSears idea.  :D

(played EVE for a month, graphics do kick-butt along with other true pluses ... but warping around the systems is a bit of a drag [could take 10+ minutes at times] and it really is a crack game that needs to be played for many hours on end to make a difference.  Hey, if I win the lotto and retire as a full-time millionaire w/ no work requirements ... I definately would take it back up.)
