ShipEdit probs.
« on: April 26, 2005, 09:50:11 am »
Anyone else had any recent probs with ShipEdit?  When I try to open it I get an "unable to locate component" error message. Specifically, "the apllication failed to start because zlib.dll was not found."  I tried reinstalling ShipEdit but I get the same problem.  I noticed someone else posted over on SFC2.net that they had an error message when trying to use shipEdit, also.

Hss anyone else run into this?  Did one of the recent server installs possibly mess something up?  My next step is to uninstall all my SFC stuff and reinstall it, but I am lazy so I thought I'd see if maybe someone knew of a quick fix before I did so.  :banghead:

Thanks.

This is a small problem with Win XP Home edition... Pro Edition has zlib.dll, home edition does not, go figure.. I'll upload the file for you.. place it in the Windows/System32 folder and another copy in the Shipedit folder.
The OP Enhancement v3.1 has this fix built in.. I have it uploaded to the SFCx DL link..

but for the file itself, DL it from :

http://sfcx.no-ip.com/downloads/mirrors/Pestalence/zlib.zip

This will fix Shipedit EAW and Shipedit OP.
