Topic: Orion Pirates 4.0 shiplist for Romulans--HUH??

   Maybe I did something wrong but I can't figure out the logic behind the initial ship selection in Firesoul's 4.0 OP shiplist for the Romulans.  In the early era you get the Klingon-style Bird of  Prey.  In any other time line you start with a SNA that generates a whopping 7 points of power.  While I enjoy the challenge of using an obsolete ship like that I have found it near impossible to beat anything more advanced than a freighter.  Have I done this wrong?  Or is this a glitch that has a patch fix I haven't heard about yet?

Forgive such a basic question, but are you refring to the single player campaign?

If you are talking Single Player Campaign then the starting ship is somewhat random as it is set by a BPV range in the .gf files. It can be changed so you get a larger ship to start if you like by going into Program Files, then Taldren Software Inc., then StarFleet Command, then Meta Assets, then Server Profiles, then Single Player, then Ship and changing to following fields to something bigger like I have here.

MinBPV                = 100
MaxBPV               = 150




This will make your starting ship a little more to your liking. Be sure to take the Ship file off of Read Only in order to save the changes. You can open it with NotePad

  If you don't have it already there is a patch it is the 2552 patch although you might just want to do a complete fresh install.Go here to get it.
