I still don't know why we ever left Battlecomm.  Worked great, even for modem users.

Word! I still have it. I thought it was the best of the lot.

I agree. Although, after using both TS and VT and still using both, running both at the same time even to communicate with all pilots, still think VT has superior vioce quality and better features.

I don't mind using VT myself, except that I'm one of the lucky few that has to reset my audio device after a couple of folks talk before I can broadcast.  Other than that folks come over it nicely, just annoying to have to use the hotkey and wait for it to respond (takes a second but I get a nice ping when it's done) before I can talk.  Oh, well.  Haven't had any luck running both at the same time and being able to broadcast, always says my audio device is in use.

So...Yes...but for the love of kahless...blind draw...no trades...and YOU pick faction leaders... ;)

Ditto. No backroom dealings and no horsetrading, and a draft works for me.

I'm in.

Glad to hear this will be a typical 2-sided server, while still trying out other concepts...

I'm even willing to reprise my role as RM / Strategic Commander for a side, and I promise to follow all the rules, such as completly blind draft (where nobody sees my draft list except the draft manager and possibly my A/RMs), No trades, which includes consulting with the other house leaders pre-draft to attempt to ensure that certain players are on the same house, unless the draft is designed to allocate entire fleet-blocks, no politics (which is hard on a 2-sided server), etc. etc.

I just ask that you post the rules clearly prior to the main signup phase actually begins so that those who sign up know what they're getting into... ;)

Yes

And I have no problem with VT or TS and can run both simutaniously. Also have RW(outdated now) and BC(probably outdated), as well as Sidewinder.

The reason I mentioned TS is becuase some of us have small HDs and only would want one program on our systems The D3ers use TS as well as Cugs and UAW in which I intend to play on all of them.I am just trying to simplify it that is all and if it works for D3 , Cugs and UaW  why not use TS atleast we would have better way to communicate between the RM/ARMs and Server Admins.

I'm supportive of trying a blind draft and it wouldn't deter my participation in any server.  I especially don't see it as an issue if the shiplist is identical.

Can't say that I'm in or not on the server yet, however as I have to look at the other settings.  I've gotten involved in other games now and am picking and choosing servers with some care, and wouldn't want to sign up for a draft if I was not going to put in a certain amount of time.

Seems like voice chat is a pretty major factor (understandably so).  I can use VT or TS w/ no problem, but it others can't for whatever reason (and there are valid reasons).  Did you want that to be considered also Hexx?

Good point Green, I can also use both but have the newer version of Ventrilo installed for my other gaming community and I dont think the 2 are compatible, would kinda suck to play without voice comms.

After all the allegations concerning the Klingon civil war server.  I think that for a draft to work it will have to be public.  A list of all pilots followed by a RM by RM sequential draft choice.

I'd like to thank everyone for actually agreeing to sign up for it so far.
(C'mon You know Captain Natas wants to play)
I didn't realize the voice coms were a make or break for so many people, it may affect the outcome.
I'll think about it
ATM it will likely be a blind draft, it may simpley involve me assigning every player a number and then divying them up somehow.
It will not be a publicly announced draft, simply due to the fact that I'm not going to run a server where someone is publicly drafted
second last. (cuz we all know who last will be... ::)   bastards..)
I know most of you can run either or, maybe the people who can run one or the other will sit out of the initial draft until the 2 leaders
decide who will use what. (Oh, did I mention I need 2 leaders btw?)

Just as long as our leader brings a good supply of tequila, and doesn't mind me making planet-spears of my fellow pilots.   ;D
