Right here: SFC:OP Community Scripts!

Requires OP+4 as well.

Its kind of in testing for now - cutting edge stuff - Running the beta serverkit build 37 and MySQL 4.1.11, both on the ramdrive, with a local chat server.

This will be the development bed for a new webmap and stuff for a few weeks, (once I get my files out of storage, arg...) so lots of time for feedback and suggestions before it's set for the long term. Mainly looking for map and missions feedback, though any at all is appreciated.

Um, how do I change this?

In the Mission Matching gf file, look at the   [Mission Profiles] section.

Where is says Move = 2    change that to a 3.

**Note**    The more missions the server is expected to generate per more, the larger drain on the kit......

Ok, Well, the map has very few home space for anyone, so the econ is in the toilet and as such the yards produce pretty much nothing. Not that it'd matter in the early era anyway. :P Suggestion: Add more starting hexes and more econ to get more ship choices... and while you are at it, mid era start would be more fun... More ships to play with. For me, the more toys the more fun. Do you have a webmap addy?

Missions... Saw 3x mission choices. Very cool.

Q: How are the turns setup? How long do we have to wait for a ship?

Righto, figured that would be a problem with the map, just did not have it in me to work on the map Sunday... I'll look at filling it in a bit this week (maybe take out a few planets too?)

Yup, three mission choices!

Turns are five minutes, one year per day, builds in one turn.

Webmap will be a bit till I get my files out of storage, this will be a new one integrated with SMF, I'll post as soon as there is a prototype up...

Yup, though I carefully observed processor use in mission matching for 5 vs 2 missions and noticed only a small increase in processor spiking on mission matching. (the bulk of mission matching parameters must be left at the defaults for predictable behaviour - the main one to get is a 500 bonus for nearby foreign characters, 200 for enemy territory, 100 for neutral and base chance...draft radius zero [required for EEK missions], gamespeed 8... that's it, leave the rest...)

The UI has room for up to seven mission to be presented I think, but I have only tested 5 at a time (SFB-OP and UAW), 3 missions vs 2 should be nearly insignificant in terms of the difference in mission matching load.

I use a larger mission selection to minimise the dominance of EEK missions over NW and TG's due to the fWait parameter... (might still be able to hack the EEK missions in hex to edit the fwait...but later, much later). And also to increase the probablilty of TG missions which are swamped by NW missions even without EEK missions present...This way the player can have a greater choice of missions to pick from at once.

(The Forge is using 66 missions - EEK, NW and TG scripts and the stock starbase construction)

Having a problem that showed up during GW5. I'll finish a mission and get booted off the server. No effect on DV and no prestige. Is this something to do with the server settings, or being I'm on a new machine, is it something I need to fix on this side? Also, every single time somebody tried to draft me for PvP on GW5, I immediately crashed to desktop. All suggestions are welcome, because it's no fun to run a mission and not have it count for anything.  ???

I've disabled the firewalls, but I've got a popup blocker from hell.

What OS are you using?  I often had that trouble with WIN2K Pro, but never with WIN98.

Are you using  a router?

No router, XP, and it seemed to be running fine until the last few days of GW5. I have no idea what changed, but it is rather annoying.

Sounds like some kind of corruption of your networking (software firewalls, anti-virus software or download acclerators...). Firewalls not only must be disabled but turned off entirely and preferably uninstalled. To recover your networking sometimes it can save a windows reinstall to remove the tcp/ip protocol and reinstall it (know what you are doing though).

The Forge is down for now anyway. (can't get at a remote session) Hopefully I'll be able to get through later today. The server crashed last night - I heard of it this morning - it will not start now, might be a reset tonight to get it going again - there will be a few to come anyway (new map etc...).

You can't remove TCP/IP in WIndows XP, you can only re-install it.

Disable your connection...Click Start button.. click Run, and enter the following command

netsh int ip reset c:\resetlog.txt

this will reset your TCP/IP .. reboot before reconnecting.. this should fix any errored registry settings for your connection.

I'm taking a break from SFC and these forums indefinitely...

(too bad... I wanted to work on this, it was going to be cool... oh well... attitudes and egos will not allow for me to work here easily...)
