Why would my new laptop lock up after I end a game?   I plays Splintercell PT and Brother in Arms just fine and dandy but when I exit ..... BSOD.

That seems kinda strange to me.

If it was a memory leak then it should effect more systems and be a wide spread issue.  The three questions I have are:

1.  Do you have the latest Dell drivers loaded onto your laptop?
2.  Do you have the latest game patches installed on your laptop?
3.  Have you checked out the games web site/forums to see if this is a known issue?

Just because the laptop is new doesn't mean that it is loaded with the latest drivers.  I remember Taldren and all the different issues with SFC II/OP and SFC 3 that required multiple patches.  Then again I used to own a Dell and remember the Dell video drivers being underpowered to keep people from burning up the video cards.  The problem with most laptops is that you are stuck with whatever drivers the manufacturer puts out.  I hope this helps and should at least get you pointed in the right direction.

Brothers in Arms did the same thing to me, except my machine isn't a laptop. You start where you have to, did you get yesterday's patch? I've got an Nvidia 6800GT and it was a driver issue(for me) that apparently was fixed in a new release. You also might try the BiA forums, and skip the tards  that will just  yell that laptop cards aren't supported because there are issues with certain CPUs and crashing after exiting.

ELVIS IS KING!  ... well, maybe.  ..... I've got a Nvidia go 6800 ultra.   Thanks for the "Clue".  I haven't had a lot of time to run this problem down.  When I get hooked up in the City I'll see what I can find out.

MoHpa works just fine. .... and it shore is a purdy rascal ! :)

Thanks fellas!
