Cool!  8)  I downloaded Visual C++ 2005 Express Beta and the Windows Platform SDKs the other day to try and compile eAccelerator on windows myself at lunchtime (but found a working version compiled from the CVS source first anyway...)

Gonna try and work with it some more when I get the chance. (Still using VC++6 at home... we've talked about updating the serverkit to the latest MS IDE if there's any benefit...)

Do you happen to know what exactly is missing in the express version? (I want to play with it at home too...)

No I don't, but if it like their Standard Editions of VS.NET 2002 and 2003 then the optimizer is not included as well as some IDE features liike source control...ect.

Btw, I just attended an MSDN event and one of the things they demostrated was a feature of SQL2005. Did you know that with with SQL2005 you'll be able to bypass IIS and hit the DB directly with http calls. Is that as exciting as I think it is?

That does sound interesting. Curious to see the implementation.
