Maulers not working GW5

Figured I'd give the Rommie one a try.  Nothing I could do would get it to charge up again - even stopping and turning everything off.  If they ain't workin' kinda pointless to have them me thinks?
A patch or two ago the Maulers had a problem charging up and there was a trick to getting them to do so.  That had been fixed at one point, is it back?  If so what's the trick?  WHere are the Rommie ships with ESG's?  Mutter mutter

Did you remember to go to your power control panel (the lighting bolt icon) and click on your batteries (so the icon lights up) to turn them on? The batteries won't recharge until you do... ;)

I just turn reinforcement and everything off and they charge up..
If I hit batteries does that take priority over reinforcement?

Nope...nothing but excess power will recharge batteries. Shield renforcement will use excess power first before recharging batteries.

Correct, I believe the battery icon needs to be unlite up inorder for them to charge as well. This is the default status of the battery icon when entering mission.

I DO know how to use maulers younglings, unless something in the patch has changed them.  The batteries aught to be chargin and they ain't - I have no answer!  If it's working for others than that really stumps me.  Oh well, probably not good to run one of those anyway, it's just about as close to an ESG I could find in effect...

After having flown cover for your mauler dreadnought on past servers I can testify that you do know how to fly them.  But after spending a fair bit of time trying to reproduce the problem I was unable to do so.

AHA!  The answer is that you can't have any shield re-enforcement on AND charge the mauler at the same time!  Funny as Iused to do it somehow or another (with a mauler it's good to keep the front shield).  Oh well, at least I know what was going on!
Now if there were only one with a few more batteries. I do miss my Mauler dread...

If J'inn is gonna cheat and play Mirak they should let me have a Lyran ship to fly after Kreug dragged me out of a nice retirement home

The trick is to NOT pull your shield reinfocement slider all the way up, so that you have some reinforcement and yet still have some excess power.  The batteries don't charge unless you have excess power.

Escape pods?  Ha!  I am an EXPERT at flying those!  I only wish they had them in the OOB!  I have more time behind the helm of escape pods than I think just about anyone else except perhaps J'inn.
