I've been sent a ship for BC

and was told I could pass it around here too...

It's called a dreadnought, looks more like a flying crate to me, but I'm sure someone willl find a use for it. Can max3.1 open ms3d files?

It's certainly unconventional... it looks more like some sort of utility ship than a dreadnaught, a small freighter or something like that maybe?

I agree, it's a flying crate. But what the hell...

Quick answer?  Nope.

You're going to have to export it out of MS3D into a .3ds to get it into 3dsMax 3.1

Or conversely.. get the MOD plugins for MS3D and export it as MOD, and import it that way.  :)

(ps: totally offtopic but geeker-c00l... am writing this on my new laptop via wireless connection in the middle of a park watching my kid play.. all while listening to a ShoutCast webstreaming radio station playing techno).  ;)

Completely agree, might even be a good civilian ship of some sort with some tex tweaks.

Why not a next generation holoship?  Colony ship?

I've got an idea.  Starfleet makes a giant starbase in the same of a Golden Retriever.  :-D  Then this ship we see here can be something like a workbee deployment/docking house?  hehehehehehe  And out the rear can be fighters, or better yet, a whole boat load of Q-torps.  hehehehehe

being such a fan of unconventional designs, i love it. looks somewhat like moving battlestation of some sort. the name dreadnought is rather fitting, IMHO. >:}}

personaly i think this is bloody ugly it looks like a giant toy bone for a huge space dog

:rofl: :rofl: :rofl:

It does !!!! IMHO it could pass as a mobile defense platform, or perhaps a mobile repair station.

That is not a flying crate...it is TWO of them! :P I like the design, very in keeping with the Defiant. Kind of like designing ships without all those pylons to shoot at...

Or maybe it looks like a flying dumbell?

Whatever it is, i kinda like it!
