Quick Question: T & L?
« on: March 08, 2005, 04:45:20 pm »
What the hell does T & L stand for in relation to graphics cards? Got Roller Coaster Tycoon 3 last weekend and can't get it to run. Web site mentions of T & L capability for graphics but no mention of what that is. Any ideas?

It is a something that more recent video cards have built into them. Can't remember what it does exactly but if your card doesn't support it your game might not run. I believe these cards do not support T&L:

3DFX Voodoo series of cards
Kyro
Kyro II
Nvidia TNT series
ATI Rage series (and earlier cards)
SiS Graphics Chips/Cards
Intel Graphics Chips/Cards
Matrox 450 and Matrox 550 (and earlier cards)
All truth passes through three stages: First, it is ridiculed. Second, it is violently opposed. Third, it is accepted as being obvious.
