Ship "Hit Points" in SFC3

If, as Dave Farrel was kind enough to inform me, the 'cargo space' value has nothing to do with a ship's 'hit points', then what does? How can one determine the hit points of a ship?

SizeClass & BaseWeight may have something to do with Hit Points. Planets have the highest Size Class (100)

The Wolf359 Cube from Skirmish also has 100 for SizeClass & 70000 for BaseWeight. and this cube is harder to kill than a normal cube.

Hope this Hepls
