Mirak?  Me?

Hmmm....I almost always fly fed when that option is available in a campaign, but I could be a drone chucker, maybe.  :)

Now wait a minute, is this because you don't want me to fly against you?!

Actually...... TheJudge had posted a reply to J'inn a while back saying something like he would love to chase him around the D2 map ;)
But, he didn't have OP.  So, C-Los and I got together and ordered him a copy, which, as of right now, is in transit to him from Amazon. com.
Maybe even there already ;)

So, he's coming for you J'inn  LOL !!

Woops!  Jeff, I sent a message to C-Los when it arrived, like two days ago, but I forgot to send you one!  Sorry, I'd cleaned out my PM folder (way too many in there!)

I've been getting myself blown up by the computer for the past two days on GFZ, although as of yet a human has not blown me up.

Wanderer, I'm an old-timer who's been playing mostly SFC3 lately, but recently got the urge to go back to my roots (thanks again, C-los and Capt. Jeff!).  I started playing on Mplayer in March of 2000 with SFC1 and was part of the old Starlance league (very crappy pilot, only made exp 5).  I started out with the old USFC fleet and then transferred to FBF (Federation Blue Fleet) after that. I hated the change to gamespy and that was a large reason why I quit playing for a while (that and the fact that the D2 wasn't nearly as good as it is now).

I almost always fly fed, though, unless feds aren't in the campaign.  Then I usually go with an Alliance race (flying Hydran on the GFZ right now).  I am patiently waiting, though, for the chance to chase J'inn around the map, just for pete's sake.  :)

Well Judge  . .  let me give you the lay fo the Role Play landscape  here.

Kroma =  Transvestite Gorn with a severe sexual identity crisis.

S'Tupaul =  Another Sexually Freeminded Gorn.

Green =  A true manly man.  (I think he's very Butch)  Being forced to fly Gorn against his will and being forced to wear a lot of pink. Including a wig.

So there you go.    Enjoy.

As for me,  I've decided to go Bi   :o  for this server.  I'll fly for both sides depending on player numbers.   So you'll get a chance to kill me as long as I can keep Kroma from trying to hit my rear shield.

Well, my merry band of men in red shorts and socks have managed to rack up four kills out of four matches.  WarClaw wants a rematch, which I'll get and he'll probably win because even with those victories, I'm extremely rusty.  There were like ten or fifteen mistakes I made each match.

Ok so the Judge is back and I want to know where the Jury is -- hey its not a joke judge used to fly with jury!!!

Now a few futher comments--most about 9th and feds

Many fed fleets had a number of aholes in them -- guess some things never change :)
9th didnt -- 9th fleet was a class act from top to bottom..

way way back in the days of SL -- when you didnt have to declare what race you were flying only the BPV of the match-- 9th was about the only fleet you could count on to fly FED at whatever terms were negotiated -- others would choose whatever cheese they could to beat you at the selected BPV.
They were top notch pilots who didnt need to stab you in the back to win..
NannerSlug, Ghis, Canuck and a long list of others who were honorable on and off the battle maps..

It was 9th fleet that KHH fought way way back in the aborted SL campaign... as I recall just when they aborted the campaign 9th had a task force of approx 48CA/CC coming at KHH with a fleet of approx 28? D7C/D7/D6/D6D/F5C (would have been some great battles if they happened)

Oh and in case anyone still keeps in touch with Reprisal - tell him duck wants to know how Sgt Harper is doing.... "God save the queen" (Rep will know exactly what that all means)

DUCKY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Reprisal is around and kicking so be carefuly or your ridge-head will have to be smashed again.  :)

FPF, calm down, please.  I do believe that he's talking about a day before the FPF existed. Many fed fleets in those days did take whatever race had the best ship in a certain point range after negotiations were done, and on counterpoint so did many of the fleets from other races.  It was a different community back then, with over 4,500 people registered for the Starlance leagues and participating in league-style matches.

Very few fleets ever stuck to their guns on what races you fly in matches, most of the ones I was a member of discouraged flying other races on principal (why be a fed if you're not going to fly fed?).  KHH was a great klingon fleet, home of many fed's arch-nemesis, and they almost always flew klingon in any match.  Likewise there were a few gorn fleets that did the same, and so on and so forth...

Most average pilots of those days ran when they saw an opponent with the fleet tag KHH, 9th, FBF, iCoP, MoK, Rage, and I can't even remember some of the other fleet names anymore, but there were several gorn and rom fleets that also fit this bill.  Me, I was too stupid to run most of the time and accepted the challenge, mostly because I always learned something new from those matches with more experienced players.  When people started running from me, it felt good for the first few times and then very, very boring when they declined matches over and over again.

With all that said...Ducky never was very good at playing nice.  :)

Damn Klingons!

Um, I was bashing the klingons, and I don't think they meant to bash any current fed fleets.  Most of the ones they might be referring to are out of existence now.

I remember in the latter days were a Federation Fleet was going around bashing everyone else because they had a lot of members.  FBF challenged them to a two-day war where fleet members fought each other in required, but fair matches (as far as BPV, etc, and both sides had to fly fed).  Out of over 95 battles we (FBF) lost about five, and most of those were two or three on one.

There was a lot of infighting in those days, except it was done in Mplayer chat rooms, not mostly on message boards like has been done recently.

Ah, the good old days.

I won't put words in Ducky's, or anyone's mouths, (He has enough problems with Minime around), but I seriously doubt it was an attempt to bash current-day fleets.  I know that was not my intent either.

Sigh

First off as Judge pointed out I was speaking in the past..
Secondly you actually failed to pick up on my post being one of high praise for the Federation 9th fleet as being as class act..instead you chose to focus on my one little comment about some fed fleets..see we never had that problem in khh we never had one ahole -- the entire fleet were aholes.
(damn I am getting old I just deleted my line about you should visit Dr Kroma's office )

Anyways once again I dont belive we have ever had any issues with anyone in Dyna -- and lets see SL was about 6years ago wasnt it ? maybe 5? -- and yea the ladder league was full of aholes at the time -- and good pilots like 9th fleet had or GT.. anyone who was part of the SL days will back me up on that comment..

Quack to you.

Sorry, didn't mean to be overly-sensitive...

Well, bashing Feds never goes out of style...

...but that is exactly why I am.  After four years of having to listen to it, one either gets used to it, or gets tired of it.  I was never one to get used to it. ;D

It's not our fault you don't have the arse to pull off that blue spandex look.

Oh just ignore them Ducky-poo. I have found the Feds to be a humorless lot that are mainly into chest pounding and a false sense of racial pride, (or maybe that was the Klingons, honestly you pink skins all look alike to me). Why just look at this pathetic display of bravado Wanderer was using to inspire his troops in the Alliance forums:

I hope I didn't.  They're MY men.  I handpicked them from around the fleet, gave them red, yellow, and blue short shorts, with matching socks and white tennis shoes to wear.  The picture I posted before was my security squad.

You know, a ship full of lovers can be an interesting life to lead, and when it comes time to fight, they're a quite a vicious bunch. It's kind of arousing seeing them all covered in the blood of the enemy after a good fight.

Just don't be stuck on the ship for the after-victory orgy.  Few people escape once that happens.

J'inn is just scared that he'll meet me in battle, and just before his ship blows up, I'll send a boarding party to capture him and bring him back to the ship...meaning he'll be stuck for post-victory party.

:)

Don't worry J'inn, I'll lock you in the brig personally.  You'll be safe in there, I promise.  I'll code the force field so that only I can open it...

This is for all those without access to Hot & Spicy...the Judge's answer to all fed bashers...

Yes, that is me in the foreground and yes I have a black eye in that pic.  Long story short, I was assigned to fill a gap in the local brig on base and a prisoner thought he'd get by me.  He didn't, I got a black eye and he got to spend a week or more in the hospital.

Ah, there's some Fleet names I haven't heard in awhile.  Some great times back then, I do miss them. My first SL Fleet was RAGE, Komodo was a member also. It was a Fleet standard to always fly Fed. Lost way too many games because I was a newb, but I had fun and slowly got better. By the time it came to an end, 3rd Fleet, MoK and iCop had most of the players. And 3rd Phoenix was always online, like 18 hours a day, it seemed. LOL    I only managed to defeat him once, but I did learn a few things from him. And he gave me some tips/tricks for all the points I gave to him and 3rd, near the end of SL. ;)
Oh well, those were the days.

no way you should lock jinn up in the brig for the festivities...kitties are fun...id suggest shaving him though and provide him with a reach around every now and again...you dont want a pent up kitty on your hands...

Shadowlord,  I remember doing general war 4 (F&E style campaign) with you and the KHH.  The 9th ran the Feds and Lyrans. You guys were the Mirak.  If I remember correctly we put quite a whoopin' on the bad guys.  It was some of the most fun I had playing SFC2.  You guys are a good bunch.  Thrain used to talk about Ducky quite a bit, can't say I ever met the guy though. (Oh, and Wanderer has been a buddy of mine for a few years, he's a good guy too ;) )

Over?! its not over until we say it is! Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor?!...Hell no! and its not over now!..(Germans? Pearl Harbor?...shut up, he's on a roll)

Yep -- in the campaign that Ghis was running -- we joined it late and were only given the option of flying Mirak == which we did --had great fun kicking some klingon arse in those Campaign battles..as I recall -- after a few major defeats the enemy threw in the towel and the campaign was over...
If only KHH had been the klingon empire -- !!!

Glad you remembered those battles -- great fun for all.

It was a blast.  I remember seeing the film of one of your battles vs the Klingons.  It was quite the fight.  I think your team took out their whole TF and you only lost a couple ships.  I should see if I saved that one.  It was one huge battle and was neat to watch.  Between that and our battle where they lost quite a few ships, if I remember correctly, they SDed bases so they could bring the defense ships to the front line.

Wish they still had that type of campaign going on.  It was a blast having you guys on the same side.

Shadowlord,

Mr. Harper has no doubt gotten fat and lazy selling horses to the gentry in his retirement leaving Mr. Sharpe alone to fight hand to hand in every climb and place.
