By saying made of wood, and the size, I would venture a trebuchet.

Well, an Arbalest could puncture it I'd imagine...with an Iron bolt if it were close enough.

Two tons though...hmm, is the spelling correct there?

Hmm, a frigate or gunship from the 1700s perhaps could destroy another ship from that time period??

Any other clues?

Well, a Fifth-rate ship used to be an official designation in the Royal Navy during the age of "Ships of the Line".. so I am going to guess it's a fireship or floating mine of some kind.

uh wouldn't a gunship also be accurate for the time period?

A first rate ship of the line would actually displace at least 2000 tons. The American 44's would also be be correct as they truely did destroy fith rate ships in a very rapid manner during the War of 1812.

The layout of a first-rate is as follows:

Lower gun deck 32 pdrs

middle gun deck 24 pdrs

upper gun deck 16 pdrs

quarterdeck guns 12 pdrs or 9 pdrs and 6 carronades

i will give you a more accurate of amount of guns etc. when i get my book on the Royal Navy of that time. will keep you posted.
