What a stupid way to resolve an answer.  I figured it out...how quaint.  There's no reason to restrict it to 5 dice however, you could do it with however many you want.

I think the program is flawed however, you can have up to 20 petals yet I've never seen it go over 10 on that site.

I had to explain it to my wife...three times....I love her, but she has no spacial conceptuality

I guessed the correct answer on the 3rd try, still have no idea of the logic behind it... I even went as far back as childrens rhymes...

hmmm its spatial is it... point groups were a breeze for me so I should be able to see this...  :-\

The trick to this puzzle is linguisitic - what is the "Rose" an analogy for?... hmm who was it came up with the puzzle originally?
His heritage and language might be a clue...

FINALLY I MAKE SOME MONEY!!!

I gave it to all the other lawyers int he office.   Right now there are over 10 very angry lawyers.  <snicker>   None of them can figure it out and I'm running from office to office yelling out the answer when I look at the screen.  <which is really pissing them off>  <snicker>

Oh, as for the money part.

Stephen . . .  Please forward $100.00 to me ASAP.  Otherwise, I'll be forced to tell them who is responsible for this. Trust me, that would be bad.

Took me a while as I was going fully mathematical on the problem. Found one hint as to why "Petals around the Rose" is the name AND is important and got it 2 tries later.
The third rule is true; the end result will be even, never an odd number.

Gotta be B with a little bit of C thrown in for good measure.  Took me about ten tries to finally decipher it.  Overthinking the problem.  Ugh.
