A company that made the top 100

Valero Oil

In the 25 yrs of operation, even during bad times, it has NOT laid off ONE SINGLE EMPLOYEE! To top it off, the execs do not get a bonus if EVERYONE else does not!  ;)

They ranked 23 out of 100 in Fortune magazine in companies to work for, they also own Diamond Shamrock stations.

Their stock performance is stellar as well, though they do not pay much dividends, my guess is they are waiting for a POWER BUY of another company, it could be Citgo if Chavez shoots himself in the foot and puts Venezuela's assets in America up for sale.

Something you should be aware of as an intangible, is that in South Texas, Diamond Shamrock has a reputation (deserved or not) for selling low quality  gasoline, often with water in it.  It hurts their bottom line.

After watching the WalMart special on t.v. and knowing quite a number of people who work at the 'employee battering' company, it's a refreshing change of pace to see a major company like this Valero Oil.

Tell ya what I do to save money at the pump and boost my octane with the Valero boys. I go to Advance Auto Parts or Autozone and add it to my tank. It DOES not hurt your engine or fuel components. Matter of fact, years ago when I was teching at Nissan, a tech buddy had a racing 280Z, used a jet fuel/gasoline mix.  ;)

Oil is near 55 a barrel, can I get a 56 or 57?
