<sigh> since J'inn is letting his pro-alliance stance be known
and absolutely refuses to entertain teh idea of the Lyran Expeditionary fleet (BCV plus support)
in Romulan space I have no choice but to use plasma.

Are the stats (range,dmg, charge and hold costs) the same as in the Strategy Guide?
Something tells me they've changed once or twice, but I've never really payed atttention.

Enveloping is x2 damage /6 shields. Defensive is shotgun mode - it makes either 2, 3, or 5 F-torps (for G, S, or R) which get spread on different targets. If there are fewer targets than torps the remainder get wasted.

Both cost more to arm and hold.
