IIRC, there is only something like 18 plots.....

Hehe, you know what's funny is that the 4400 show actually is something I wrote as a script about fourteen years ago and now its a series....

Too bad the dialogue and major characters don't match exactly or I'd have sued.

How close is it?  Perhaps you still can....

Not that close, but close enough that I went GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRr when I saw the first commercial for the show last year.

Just another occasion of a basic idea taken down similar paths by two people.

Now its been awhile, but if I remember in the original BSG, (TOSBSG?) there was episode where Starbuck (Benedick) does get shot down by a Cylon Raider and crashlands on a planet. If memory serves, there was a small human settlement and Starbuck manages to save the day. And I think he also got the girl (or as much the Censors in the day would have allowed) and so on and so forth.

Now, I'm not attacking the episode, I enjoyed it to,  but I do think, the writers are borrowing some scripts/plots from the original.

Sounds like another SciFi show we all love  :o

That was the episode where the blonde "Viking" like family was. The ones with the winged helmets, knee boots, and push up animal skin bras. Starbuck saved the day by teaching the kids to sabotage the Cylon castle while rhyming.  ::)

I think they also got the idea from the episode where Apollo crashed landed and found the boy with the big BB gun (Pneumo?). Apollo saves the day by killing the "damaged Cylon" that was the puppet of the evil sheriff with the "tin-hat". Boomer and Starbuck risked getting back to Galactica (by buring fuel) to find the missing Apollo. ::)

When leaving, Starbuck tells the oldest daughter that when she grows up, she's going to break a lot of hearts.

What hearts??!!  Her younger brother's?  There wasn't another human on the freaking planet!!!!!

That logical flaws in that episode bugged me, even when I was watching it first-run in my teens.  Why the hell didn't the father take that family get onboard the Galactica?

If you watched this week's episode, you'd see how part of her getting that fighter off the ground was pure luck, and nothing else.

I just loved how Ms. Godfried (aka Number 6) tried to seduce Adama and all he did was give her that 'look', and then put guards on her.

I don't think I've ever seen a bathroom scene like that on ANY sci-fi show.  While Gaeda and Baltar were talking to each other through the stalls, and Gaeda's shoes changed direction, I was laughing my butt off.  It was just hilarious.

And then "HEY! YOU DIDN'T EVEN WASH YOUR HANDS!" had me rolling off the bed.

Oh, and I know definitely believe Baltar's bi-sexual and will hump Gaeda if he ever gets really hard up, and Gaeda will love being used by his hero. (sorry, just had to throw that in after their 'hug' in the prison cell.)
