Nowhere in the rules does it say what ship they get to fly.

I quoted the rules for it in the 1st post. If you want to refer to the Srvr Description post, it's the 5th post down in this section: Most Valuable Player Award:

Just as a suggestion, since they were both piloting DNs at the end of the server, why not let them fly what they were there?
Of course, if FS simply doesn't want to...it would be a good match, IMHO. FS's a good pilot in his own right. I think he's just being too modest.
Go for it FS! What have ya really got to lose? It's all good and just for fun anyway!

Due to my Enemies fear  (   ) of actually engaging me with an approximately equal ship I admit I ran form the 2xDn/CVA squads you used to try and hunt me down.
The only person who spanked me (and if i didn't use the term he would<shudder>) in an even fight was Kroma in his CMX vs my SUT

And to be honest I probably had the better ship in that fight.
