Thank You Dizzy.
« on: February 13, 2005, 03:03:00 pm »
Great Server!!     I had fun for the time I played.  Thank you very much for your time and effort.

I’d also like to thank Bonk, Xenocorp, and DH for their time and effort as well . . .

Post-Server Analysis . . .

I had fun. <--- That is ALL that matters to me.   J’inn = Selfish Bastard

State of the D2 Analysis . . .

Several angry people. Some really really angry.   Some happy people.   How to fix it . . .  Dunno.

For some reason many people still feel a duty to play on a server or  “comit” to a server.      Heck, if you like it play. If you don’t, don’t.  By playing when you don’t like it your bad vibes (excuse the Valley Talk, but I was born there) just spread to the player base and bum others out.

Personalities . . . .

Everyone has one.  Some are more . .  challenging . .. than others . . . .  Consider it a challenge to learn to work with it.   Or, don’t play if they will make you miserable on a specific server.

No one here bothers me much.  Heck, it’s not like I have to sleep with any of you every night.  I get sick of you I turn off the computer for the night.   Try turning off the spouse one day. I dare ya!  LOL

Alliance vs. Coalition . . .

I play under fake names a lot (mostly as Mog <snicker>).  Catseye.  Stimpy.  Backfire. Stinger. Etc.   Usually on every side on a single server.   Why?   I get bored easy.  So sue me, but I like to see what others are doing.

I have very disturbing news . . .

YOU GUYS ARE ALL THE SAME!!

<waits for shock and horror to sink in>

Really, the differences are minor.   Same jokes.  Same fun.  Same bitching.  Same Same Same.

Cheese . . .

Look at the shiplist before playing.  Look at the rules.  HELP TEST OR STFU!!   Make suggestions.  Wait for the final product.  Decide whether to play.  It’s that easy.

Tactics . . .

Every single thing a player can think of that is not illegal or just plain cheating is a valid tactic.  No whining.   Drone and run.  Valid.  Starcastle.  Valid.  Saber Dance. Valid.  Hex Munch . . Valid.  Flying with a wing all the time.  Valid.

Hey, he’s doing what he likes to have fun.  You do what you like.

Think of it as a challange.

If it ruins the server for you, quit and wait for the next server.

Mid-Server Changes. . . .

Heck, an Admin can do whatever.  He can change things if people bitch.  Whatever.   If the server you signed up for becomes a server you don’t like.  Stop and wait for the next one.  There is no need for a single post about it.  Just don’t log back on.  (You might want to tell your side of course)

Sportsmanship . . . .

Actually it’s not that bad.  Man, did it ever used to be worse.  Although the All Klinks do this . . All Feds do that stuff is sooooooooo old.   I love how BOTH YES BOTH sides think only the other side flies drone boats and hex munches.  ROFL!!

Well here’s waiting for the next server.   Whatever that server may be . . .

Dizzy put an arse load of hours into building this.   AND at times the server was packed.  It brought in new players.   It  had a good turnout.  It pumped new life into the game.  That alone makes him the D2 Man of the Moment.

But that’s enough . . . his ego is big enough as it is . . . <snicker>

This was a lot of fun and the hard work is appreciated. I enjoyed everyting except the part where my wife thought I was looking at an X-rated website. "No, honey. Slave Girls of Orion is a star trek web site." Thank God I had the website bookmarked. "See, I told you so". LOL

Good Job Dizzy!

Echoing the thanks here.  My first server (heck, my first online gaming experience) was most enjoyable (as well as educational).  Thanks to the addictiveness (is that a word?) of the game and the RL obligations (Wife, Kids, etc.) that usually kept me off during Prime Time, I lost more than my fair share of sleep putting in time during the wee hours I usually was putting in.  As a result, I did not get as much PvP action as I had hoped, but what I did get I enjoyed thoroughly (though I sure did alot of dyin'  :P) .  Have to admit the late hours got to me a couple of times, so if I was short with anyone (762?), my apologies are sincere.

Looking forward to the chance to play on future servers.

Well done on this one.  It has to be a herculean task.

As a First Timer here, I did enjoy it immensely.  I even have more Kills than Deaths, which makes my day.  I will be looking forward to the next one, and THANKS to all who made this possible.  See, even GSA players can be civilized and play here too eheh.

I had fun right up to the point where I got a headache from a perpetual jaw clench due to intensity in combat. Then I was just in pain. LOL. I think I solved that though. Got a little "liquid muscle relaxant" and my jaw muscles have let go. Next time, I'm gonna be in on a server from the get go. (Isn't SFB OP up next?)

Thank you Dizzy, Bonk, and DH for all the work that went into SGO4. I know it was a long time coming.

Have to admit the late hours got to me a couple of times, so if I was short with anyone (762?), my apologies are sincere.

Accepted, and no hard feelings. I'm glad to see fresh blood still coming into the game.

Thanks to those who worked to put this server up.. thanks to those who showed up on it for all the great battles, my time was very memorable.

Also, a special thanks to the newer players who showed up for this server and pumped new life and blood into OP   :notworthy:  I commend you all for sticking out what the rest of us normally call 'a serious server' with all its' pros and cons for your first dyna, hope to see you all again soon.

Thank you to friend and foe alike... I like to think we're really all friends anyway, bumpy road it may be at times <S>

If we exclude the first days and the last days of the server the lack of pvp for ISC  side had a result at the most part most of us to find this server boring.  :(
It seemed to me that Alliance and Coallition  didnt want the ISC side to be involved in this server as the "police" of the neutral zone for reasons i dont know and actually ruined the concept Dizzy planned for this server.
I just beleive if they werent those dam treaties this server could be much more fun and make an unforgetable experience for old but mostly for new players;and that is really something that in our days the whole sfc community really needs it.
However, the number of people that participated and the days we had the chance to fly many pvp matches was really something special and i really enjoyed it as this was my first Dyna experience.
I d like to thank Dizzy for his work and his good sportmanship ,DH for hosting the server and all people involved and spend time so the rest of us have fun.
I d also like to thank Reejr , Kurok , Corbo and Chuut for consulting me and informing about the rules regulations(only reading the rules r not enough) tactics and general how u have to play in this new to me dyna server.
