I think the words were a bit more confusing, so I hope pictures would help:

(Edit: Just saving some space, so I'm removing pictures.  Besides, Mani perfected it!  At least for SFC3, to which I don't have...)

You almost had it right.  The phaser arrays circled in red shouldn't be there.  You were close though, and a nice move, kitbashing the Galaxy-class Dreadnought (Galaxy-X) model with this in order to get the arrays right... Well, almost.

(Edit: Just saving some space, so I'm removing pictures.)

Not as much an error, but to point out that the U.S.S. Venture in DS9 had this distinctive feature, and was a variant.  It's a nice feature, but not truely needed.  Maybe take those off or kitbash with the original engines on previous versions?

One last problem, the size:

(Edit: Just saving some space, so I'm removing pictures.)

As you can see, version three (the one before the recent version that you worked on) was pretty small, and seemed just a little bigger than WZ's Constitution-class refit.  That's real small.  And the most-recent version (version 4) is smaller than the previous version (version 3).  If you plan on resizing it correctly (preferably when comparing to WZ's work, like his beautiful Constitution-class), here's something to help:

(Edit: Just saving some space, so I'm removing pictures.)

This is a comparision of the Galaxy-class to the Constitution-class (refit), a collage of Ex Astris Scientia's Fleet Chart Picture.  I had to kitbash the picture to make the comparison much easier.

I just felt like helping out with the perfectioning of this Galaxy-class model we have in our hands, that's all.  If it takes patience or if it doesn't work out though, that's alright.  But it would be very much appreciated if it is nearly-perfected.  As I said, if such is in-progress, I'd like to help out in my own way.

Chris, I owe ya one.  You took the words right outta me mouth.  Also, for the record, take a look at this shot taken by Spartan - 117 and posted a few days after the initial release.  I think that is the size you should shoot for.

For the heck of it, I did a similar size comparison in-game SFC2 for Version 1 and Version 3 Galaxy-class Starship models:

(Edit: Just saving some space, so I'm removing pictures.)

Again, just to help.  I need to get to bed now...

(And now that I've got some, I'd like to point out my labeling error: Where it says "Version 2" in the first comparison, it should be "Version 3"... I don't know how I let that error slip by me, tired or not. *shrug*)

I'm downloading it now.  Should have results in an hour or so (I've got a lot of things to do today).

I really like the close up shots as it really looks like 1701-D from  TNG show and I like the comparison of the Galaxy to the Constitution.I like version 2 compared with with Constitution.

Finally!  Almost perfection...

Properly-scaled and the details are right.  I thank you for that, Mani.

However...

I guess it's because I don't bother playing SFC3 (especially when I don't have it) and that this model is mainly for that (considering the lack of SFC2 hardpoints).  Oh well.  I'm going to hit myself over that, but at least having this ship is good enough for me, I guess. *shrug* Again, thanks very much Mani.

I understand it's Spadaro's 18th Birthday today.  Well, what better way to celebrate than to give him a set of keys for his first ever Galaxy-class Starship:

Enjoy the birthday while you can. ;)

Hey!  Gimme the Galaxy, Chris! (Laughs) Seriously, though, what does the text above the ship say. (it looks Japanese, but I can't read Japanese)

I layed eyes on her before you ever did.  I even have the plaque (and I can find a CG image of my plaque and hash it out for you)! ;)

Anyways, the text is another traditional birthday greeting just translated.

"Hash it out"?  What in the name of James T. Kirk does that mean?  I would like to see the plaque, though. BTW, what is your avatar a pic of?

Wow, I hope the Venture variant will be avalible. Does SNS plan on making the Excelsior, and if so, will he use the 467m figure or the 635m that the model suggests?

Here's Bernd's article on it (biased toward 467 so he can be lazy. :P,) and the SCN links to the original topics. More thanks goes to Atrahasis for pointing the problem out. :)

First, this is "hashing it out":

Think of "hashing it out" as digging through old stuff and pulling it back out into the world from boxes in the basement or what not.  As you can see, the starfleet emblem wasn't done well, but it came from a friend I hadn't heard from in years.

And my avatar is Yattaro from a manga adaptation of the 1990 Japanese show called "Kyatto Ninden Teyande".

The name/registry number tags I have come from the original BC model that was made by Scotchy when he released it.  Just FYI.
