We at CUGS are proud to announce the grand opening of Demon Renegade Studios, run by long time SFC modder, Wicked Zombie, here on our servers. For those who may not have heard of him, his is a modeler for the SFC series games. He is one of the oldest I in fact, in the ranks of those such as Deemon (Star Trek Armada fame), Moonraker, P81, Jeff Wallace, Atrahasis, and TheStressPuppy, affectionately called “Old-bies”. He produces excellent quality models for most of the major races. Some of his best works, at least in my opinion, include a complete fleet of Andromeda invaders, based on designs from a failed Taldren venture, A huge post TNG era Klingon super vessel, which looks about as mean as nasty as a Klingon ship can get and is also his own design, a Cardassian Kalon, and a Federation class TMP vessel, which is basically a upgraded constitution refit (think Galaxy-x) as well as a recently released Titan based on the Galaxy and Sov, and inspired by Atolms designs for the yet to be seen Titan class from Star Trek X. That vessel is perhaps the best blending of Sov and Galaxy features yet seen in gaming level modeling, a true testament to his talent, the construction styles aren’t easily mixed. He also has the ability to create unique looks on run-of-the-mill vessels. Daedalus class, for example, is a rather boring looking vessel from the early TOS Era, seen in variation in the final episode of TNG as a future era Medical vessel, suggesting that the basic style was somewhat successful. Wicked Zombie has refit it to TMP, and given his own twist, which results in unique nacelles and curved pylons, to make the ship appear TMP but still look considerably less advanced than other main fleet vessels, as it probably should be. He is also one of the few, if not the only modeler to post not only the ships, but also excellent amounts of reference pictures for you to study for each and every ship before you download. No small thumbnails here. In some cases, size reference pictures with well-known ships are also presented, as well as artistic renders. On Behalf of CUGS, we hope you enjoy his site, as well as the various models, both present and future. (Thanks to Starforce2 for the nice write-up!)
