Carrier 117 WIP-**Updated 2/5**

This is suppose to be Big. I still have 4 to 5000 polies to add. Not sure what I have in mind for details. This is the basic hull. Note it is open from front to back. It also has 4 circular slots that run top to bottom with 4 sphereical engines in the ships center. There are a lot of ways I could go with this. I could take the top lid off so to speak and open it up more, or I could close off the back end.

Thanks for the comments guys. Skinman, nice to see you around bud. I just threw that map on, its all stetched. Thats a bad habit I have. I just remapped the parts to colors. This shows the mesh  better until I get further along with textures. Which is still my Achilles heel, but I keep improving  ;D


Don't think I'll add much more except guns. Probably will redo those red arches on the side higher poly. Then I need to come up with a fighter concept for this.

I believe this is the closest yet I have gotten to making a steel hull. This is likely the base texture on the hull. Redid the side curved trim.

 Hooray-the rudder is gone. Reminded me of a TV antenna. OK I like this better but parts of it still suck. More pics to compare the front. Those guns up top look too big from thr front. Perhaps if I taper them.
What this ship needs is details added in with textures. I might give that a try. There is lots of room for details on the sides.
I have yet to make a design that I like from every angle. Every ship has a best side.


I just got an idea. I will rework the side. Add about 3000 polies worth of greebles Muahahahaha.. Then do some major texturing on this baby.
This will be my 1st non-crappy model ever by the time I am done. Going to get rid of the funky textures you see from the front(the ones on the cylinder). This ship is meant to look militaristic. So I got have to got all the f-ing funkiness out of it.

As usual, deleted some previous pics to lower bandwidth usage. Substantial update. For the most part, this is what it will look like,
Only some minor stuff like texturing the inside of the hanger bays. Perhaps some beveling here and there on the top. This is my favorite design thus far (out of the ones I have done I mean)
