Actually, it was on someone's notebook and it crashed. I was able to boot the thing from a floppy with a zip drive in DOS and transfer all the desired files out. But I fear the HD crash might have had to do with the fact that it was NEVER defragged. With all the errors and crosslinking and potential bad sectors, etc., I think a few files got corrupted, and they all happen to be MS Powerpoint presentations.
So, no, I never changed any of the files. I'm just trying to fix 'em.
There used to be a kind of a "filefix" utility in the old DOS Norton Utilities suite, I think. Unfortunately, I don't have that anymore, not that it would run on today's computers.
