These are my orders and when you run your server you can be as impartial as you like. Till then, you know what I'd say to you. hehe

I'm thinking the Wild Geese duty would be based on balancing player numbers, or missions run numbers rather than on a soley VC count.  Always felt the role of the geese was numbers balancing rather than a reward or punishment for VC counting.  But I could see some case for each.

The ISC have more VCs than anyone else, despite a treaty between the Alliance and the Coalition for the beginning of the server (VCs are seriously skewed in favour of the ISC), and now the 'server admin' wants to make things even more unbalanced?? I'm sorry, but I will speak my mind here, balance on this server is a joke.

A position that was rapidly deterorating, and could not be reversed .  Now Alliance VCs were more heavily in Coalition space

Quote
1 VP is awarded to the Alliance for every 20 Econ hex they own of Coalition space as long as they are in compliance with LoS Rule Two when VC's are recorded. In addition, any Coalition hex Econ over 20 is worth that number in VP points. Again, LoS Rule two applies.

Yet the Alliance spent most of its time gobbling up the lesser VCs of the ISC space.  Now this isn't a bad plan for the initail stage, I admit, but to really earn some VCs from now on the Alliance and Coalition will have to focus on each others space a bit more, or at least fight over the planets they
took from the ISC.  With the ISC now cleared out from major portions of the map, the Alliance and Coalition are now free to pursue their expansion against one another without serious threat of having ISC forces cut their lines.  So although round 1 may have favored the ISC subsequent rounds will likely do the reverse, Then again there is a very potentially rich source of VCs in PvP combat.  If the Alliance and Coalition open each other up as targets they can exploit this situation.

All these options are open as the Alliance is not constrained in their movement or range of targets as no 2 hex from origional space applies to them.  Now, as far as total balance from a server VC condition point of view, I'm not certain, but the VCs were posted pretty clearly and open for discussion by RMs before server start as far as I know (correct me if I'm wrong here).  On another post you seemed to not understand that the ISC planet VCs were different if the were held as opposed to captured by your side.  This implies to me that you didn't do your homework.

Now don't get me wrong, I'm not sure that you don't have some valid points, but a different strategy other than bash the ISC might be more profitable to you in the future.

Only a fool fights a war on two fronts. The only real chance either the Alliance or the Coalition had of winning this server was to wipe out the ISC completely.

I'm glad you didnt try saying the server was balanced.

I don't think any complete wipeout was or is necessary, with sizable VC objectives outside of ISC space and cut off from ISC control, I think your analysis is incorrect, but you are of course free to pursue your own strategy.

There has never been a completly balanced server, but with the player numbers count I have to wonder about your assertions.  I honestly think it will come down to player participation, strategy and execution over server setup.

Player numbers?? Tell me, how many ISC have been on the server lately since before today?? And how mnay VCs do they have?? Player numbers and VCs are completely disproprtionate to each other. Lets look at space taken on the map, shall we?? Both the Alliance and Coalition took 3 planets each, the ISC took none. Again, look at the VCs.
Any one with basic elementary maths can see this server is severely unbalanced. We are not talking here about 'some' inbalances that inevitably crop up, perhpas even as oversights, but these are by design. They are deliberate. How do you justify that?? You cant unless you state that the server was not meant to balanced. And if it is not meant to be balanced, then some players are being deliberately given a raw deal. Why should these players play at all??

You should take your concerns to the RM forum for discussion I think, I butting out as I'm not an RM for this server.

If you want to discuss this after the server I will gladly debate the issue, but I don't wish to give my opponents in game any ideas for strategies they haven't considered, for the sake of this discussion.

Um..The Coalition took 3...the Alliance only took 2, and one of those only the day before the server scoring was done.
And you guys (Alliance) have has very strong numbers almost all server, it's a wonder there's any ISC space left at all...
Comon, let's go have fun killing each other... ;)

You guys are losing because you refuse to play the server set up as described. Attcking the ISC all out like you two have will not win you the server. You might want to read that library Dizzy posted listing the parameters.

I'll say this...

If you look at the VCs, the ISC, while in the "best" starting position in VC totals, is also in the "worst" position for VCs.

How can I say this, simple.  The ISC is limited to 245 map VCs per round, and then kill VCs.  That means, if the ISC claims every map VC possible all server, we get a grand total of 735+ kills VCs.

Round 1, the ISC only claimed 84 of our 245 map VCs.  That's 34% of the possible ISC VCs.

Now, you can get 84 VCs from the Coalition in what, 3, maybe 4, Big Coalition hexes?

I think that these cries of balance are "sour grapes", this is supposed to be a 3-way server.  The ISC is supposed to have a lot more pilots than they do now, and we've lost a lot to your lovely treaty.  If you want a 2-sided server, then why did you even sign up for a 3-way server and invite the ISC to this party?

Balance... hehe. There's a topic that could start a 10 page flame.

Just want to point out that in the event the ISC lose their last two planets, Organia and 40,12, then they will have lost 75 Map VC's. That leaves them with 1/10th total hexes owned + PvP VC's.

So if the same holds true for their PvP kills for round two, they will get 21 VP's for kills and 1/10th their total hexes controlled from the western most column up to and including the 45 column which right now would only give them 6 VP. So they'd score 27 VP's for round two. Either the alliance or coalition could eclipse that pretty easily with two more VP cycles because there just arnt enough ISC players to hold anyone off. So despite them having a small lead, it's about to vanish entirely.

I think this server is fairly balanced from the get go. You are all entitled to your opinion, but I think I'm doing at least a fair job. What I can't predict is how a land grab server goes, and this server is 70% of one. Surprisingly, the Alliance and Coalition have about the same number of hexes controlled. That's pretty encouraging.

If I may make a request of everyone? ...this is a game. It's fairly fun given the player numbers on the server (for some races) and victory is still easily in everyones grasp. Please, lighten it up. Thanks.

And there are a few unreported Wild Geese that need to PM me please. Thx

Diz

Three sided have never worked in the past, and this is testament that they still don't work. I was asked to be the Federation RM, and I will stick the server out. This will be my last three-sided server, however.
