I just caught Enterprise last night, and this was one heck of a good episode (Babel 1)! I can't wait till next week to see what happens. Way to go Manny Coto!

Did any of you see it ? What did you think?

I totally agree, it was excellent! Next week's looks to be even better than that! I just wish there were a few more eps with Tellarites than the few that were there. At least the Vulcans and Andorians were fairly well developed and all this led to a very enjoyable episode.

Man, this sucks. I am having a real hard time getting into the habit of being home for it now, and I don't remember to record it so...

Darn B&B for sucking so bad that I lost interest and found other things to do with my time. lol.

EE, good to see you again. To be honest, the last two episodes were bad, but Babel and the sequel look good. All four seasons will be out on DVD this year, so check them out at Blockbuster!

I've got seasons 1-3, except for the final couple of 3 on tape, in order. At the end of the third season I was so frustrated with the series I just quit. The one episode I saw this year, though, wasn't too bad (I don't remember which it was) so maybe I'll rent it.

T'was a good episode, trouble makin' Romulans!! I found the remote controlled ship interesting.

I still have a hard time with the ridge headed Romulans. I wish they had gone with the non-ridged. It's makes more sense, imo (and lends itself to more interesting plots as far as espionage)

That was a big subtext to the tension in Balance of Terror. When it was revealed that the Romulans and Vulcans were the same race, the espionage angle was obvious. And one of the bridge personel became very suspicious of Spock.

They didn't even use the heavy brow-bone look that TNG used (at the same time that the motion pictures were still using Romulans with normal foreheads in STV and STVI). Instead, these Romulans had really huge, V-shaped double mountains on their forehead. I found it kind of strange, given that Coto is supposed to be such a TOS fan.

Yeah, Balance of Terror is one of my favorite episodes, I have it on DVD.

It's possible that Coto was forced to do the ridged Romulans by some other parties, I would imagine. I could go down the line of why so much about the more recent Romulan appearances and stories don't make sense, but I've done it before so... It's really sad, because they were always one of my favorites.
