Overstock.com yesterday was slowly going up due to their expected close of market earnings statement for the 4th qtr and end of year. I figured everything was good to go in my portfolio so I took a break and took a nap. Most expensive nap I ever took. I woke up, looked at the quotes, and saw 67 a share and was ecstatic. So I go looking at the earnings statement released and BAM, even though they BEAT the expectations, the profit taking started like wildfire. By the time I got to the aftermarket sell and dumped them, I had gone from a good profit to a 2k loss, all within 30 minutes!
Take my advice, if you play the markets, you GOTTA pay attention all the way. Don't listen to that BS of buy and wait for months. Bonk can tell you that, I remember when COCO was a very hot stock, and because of an investigation at just one of their facilities, the shareholders dropped their shares like there was no tomorrow. All it takes is just one little newsbit or a panic, and you lose...
I learned my lesson, as I was going to sell at 66 or 67 and use my profits to buy a new P/C.
