Dumb Purchase, first one since - well the last one.

Brain fart.
Synapse mis-firing.
Temporary idiot syndrom.

Call it what you want ( note: not an invitation to call me[/] what you want  ;) ) there are times when a person buys something stupid.

It seems like a great idea at the time - its usefullness could not be overstated! or its something it quite simply cannot do without!

Then you return to sanity. Your brain reaches one conclusion and its doesn't tend to pull punches when it comes to talking about your self.

I'm sure we've all been there.

Share a story here if you have!

I was there yesterday - and I've photographs.

Two days ago I was browsing firebox.com and noticed this:

http://www.firebox.com/index.html?dir=firebox&action=product&pid=530

The humouress description and the star trek spin was enough to plant a seed that would haunt me a day later. I walked into a local electronics store the next day - just to kill some time, I was waiting on someone colecting me. When I noticed it. At 25 quid it was far more acceptable than the 40 I had seen it online for.

I simply had to have it. I bought it without having any cash on me, but I had my reliable VISA debit card on me (VISA cards are e-v-i-l ).

Once the oooooo! ahhhhh! bit had worn off I felt like a bit of an ass. Heres the pics anyway.

Wouldn't have just as easy to take a trip to Finmere (Oxford/Buckingham border village) and go to the market on a Sunday, and buy something that "Just fell off the back of a truck, mate"

Actually, a pretty nice market..made a great Sunday outing..50 p got you in for 6 months

I bought one of those last year from Radio Shack, returned it and a replacement because neither could control a Samsung DVD/CD combo even though they listed specific codes for that type of unit; even the learning function would not work it. I highly suggest anyone interested in this item check the websites for feedback on compatibility.

It has potential, but check for your specific codes first.
