I am having trouble with the game freezing up on me on the multiplayer/single player selection screen or on the login screen. I have reinstalled the game twice and I still have the same problem. I have run my anti-virus and spyware program and I am clean. It couldn't be my internet (which is dsl) as the game freezes usually before I can log in. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. ???

I get the same problem occasionally. Usually if you wait a bit it unties itself and gets you in, but sometimes you get the "SFC-OP not responding" thing if you hit Ctrl+Alt+Delete. What I would try is turning everything off that you can except your internet connection and the game (all other unnecessary applications off including anti virus)) and then try it. If it works well then there is some program interfering with the game. You can then narrow it down by taking them out one by one until you find the culprit(s).

do you have any programs running in the back ground? Virus software or something else maybe? I had that problem when i ran nortons and forgot to turn it off. Thats all i can think of.

Have you tried launching from SFCOP.exe vs StarFleetOP.exe?
