USS Victoria-A NX-71701
« on: January 23, 2005, 09:21:35 am »
As a good portion of people here know I'm one for attemting to recreate high poly cgi based models from such sites as scifi-meshes and startrekaustralia.com. Anyway, after securing permission from Vulcan2k3 I've spent the past 4 days (although it does seem much longer), recreating his defiant style USS Victoria as a more suitable model for usage SFC. Current status of the model is it sits at around 40% of the mesh complete. Poly count is aprox 2400 and accuracy remains 100% to the original. I'm aiming for around 6k with the final version, but this will be a while before its finished. For now. Heres a couple of 3dmax renders to be going on with.

Some more WIP shots. Current poly count is now 4002. All rear detail (or at least as much as I'm willing to include), is done. So I've got an estimated 2000 polys for the front pod, to play with. Aside from this I made an arse job first of all, because I forgot the shuttle bays. Warp extensions are done and I've decided to mirror the rounded bridge section on the bottom to give the bottom some detail. I'm going to give it a rest until tomorrow when the big work starts.

This has to be one of the most impressive meshes that I've seen Major A Payne make!
