I'm sorry that you missed the uninstall shortcut on the start menu. I'm also sorry that you missed the uninstall link in the add/remove programs dialog... perhaps I should put a note in the acknoledgements text to the effect. (the natural place to look).
I hope you are not running multiple installs. In future please ask at the first sign of trouble instead of uninstalling the works. Often its just some little simple thing. We're here to help!
(P.S. it is free and makes no warranty and nobody else seems to have this much trouble with it, though I feel for your situation. I can understand the frustration)
P.S. ...to get on, try a clean install, patch to 2552, install OP+4 and SGO4 and all shoud be good. ...
but before you do...
hmmmm ok .. let's Uninstall the entire game completely ... everything .. make sure that there are no remaining folders any where .... etc.
AHA, before installing SGO4 remove the following registry entries from your registry that correspond to the following lines from the installer script and you will be ok to reinstall the SGO4 mod: (please do so very carefully - be sure you don't delete anything else, there is no undo in the registry editor and your entire system depends on it)WriteRegStr HKLM "Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\SGO4" "DisplayName" "SGO4 Files"
WriteRegStr HKLM "Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\SGO4" "UninstallString" '"$INSTDIR\SGO4_Uninstall.exe"'
(you cannot reinstall the mod because these say it is there, you cannot uninstall because you manually deleted the uninstall exe, this should fix you up...)
The mod requires that it be uninstalled before it is reinstalled to protect your original files, as the
current game files are backed up when the mod installs.
